I can speak English, and bits and pieces of Spanish and Japanese. Pretty much enough to ask where the bathroom is, where food is, and how to scream for help. =/

He should have said to draw two horizontal lines parallel to each other and by branching a line you would have a word "ye" in katakana if I'm not mistaken.

There is no "ye" in Japanese, you're thinking of "yu". And besides, "yu" is pretty much an "H" that fell over.

I maybe mistaken but so are you..lol. "Yu" is shaped like a a letter "T" with its bottom bent and turned upside down..heh, I pawned you there

It looks more like a sideways "H" with a bit missing at the top than any kind of "T".
