*sighs* This is serious life or death stuff here, people of Neo.

I'm 16, going to be 17 in May. Due to the way I was raised, I matured early and am basically more responsible than the adults I live with. My sister and I are best friends, which most people scoff at. We're not catty or bitchy like most sisters. We're laid back, we don't like drama or cattyness, and we're uber close.

I live with my sis, her kids, my mom, and my grandma in a too-small house my gran has owned all her life.

I've been homeschooled my entire life. Sheltered from the world. I have nothing of a social life unless online counts. No friends, no boyfriend, no job, nothing. All because my mother is a clingy, controlling, sheltering...thing! She's tried numerous times to talk me out of going to college, she doesn't want me doing anything to better myself or my life, and she's constantly telling me I'm never going anywhere and that I'm going to live with here forever.

Here's the bottom line: How do I convince her to let me move out with my sister when I'm 17?

She doesn't trust my sister for some ungodly reason. She wants to cling me and pretend I'm stil six years old and playing with Barbies. We would only live about twenty minutes away in the city so my sis could be right next to her workplace, and I would only have to drive about five minutes to my GED classes(and eventually, college campus) and my sis would have a live in babysitter still.

I know she's not going to reason with logic, but I'm so ready to make this happen. Where we live, something is so off about it. I feel like it's sucking the life out of me, and combined with my mom, I'm seriously battling mental problems. Help?????

Tell your mom that you have to move ahead. It's time to let go, you aren't 10 years old, you're a man. You have to endure the hardships of the outside world. Otherwise, you will never be able to have a life, raise your own family.

Talk to your mother about letting you off, that's the best advice I can offer. You must not, at all costs, make her feel less important, nor impose her anything. Try always to boost her importance; hit her strongest points first: tell her all the good points that can positively affect her on your freedom; in short, lower her defences. Compliments are acceptable as long as you're being honest. There's a high chance of him accepting your decision that way. Other than that, I suggest reading Dale Carneige's book "How to make friends and influence people"; it could be of help.

No, I think she means that she doesn't trust her sister that she will take care of her, she only trusts herself.

Not in the sense that she thinks she's evil.

TBH I think your mother should get checked out, it could develop into something more serious.

If she isn't going to reason with logic than what's the point in trying to solve it emotionally? Do what you have to do and forget what your mother wants.
