Hey, Loungin'; another Kim Hyde special.


What are your opinions on step-brothers getting together with their step-sisters? Do you think it's acceptable if both parties truly love each other or is it one of the most disgusting and disgraceful things you've ever heard of, regardless of the genuine feelings they may have for each other?

Now I know there has been a thread about this before but that thread was centred on the act of sex itself whereas here we're discussing the other side of it; the feelings and emotions and all of that.

I haven't been able to make my mind up about this; I mean, physically, they're doing nothing wrong; if they were to have babies, there wouldn't be any foreseeable complications with the baby's health. But morally, I can see there being something wrong with it; I mean, they're siblings at the end of the day and being romantically involved should be the last thing they think of doing with each other.

But if they're genuinely in love and are 'meant for each other', what gives us the right to judge them or interfere with their relationship? Surely, it's their lives and they can do what they want with it as long as it doesn't affect other people in a negative way?

What would you guys do if you were married and had step kids, and they came up to you and told you they were in love and wanted to be together and spend the rest of their lives together? Would you support them or try everything in your power to break them up and then disown them straight after?

I'm on the fence about this. Yeah they may not be related in blood, but they possibly grew up as a real brother and sister, right? It's more of a mental boundary, then a physical.

Actually when I think about it, I'm just going to say that I don't mind relationships between step-siblings. Love is love, that's all there is to it.

And if my children came up to me saying that, I would let them go on with their relationship, but tell them to keep it quiet, to avoid humiliating themselves.

Um, since they're technically related, I'ma say negative on this one.

What if they were going out before their parents got married? I remember this comedy where this couple was engaged then their parents got married. I think then it'd be cruel to break them up just because they are related on a technicality.

I think its acceptable, but because I've had an affair with my former stepsister before. And she isn't related to me anymore, so I think step-relationships are fine.

At least they all have a solid point and arguable sides. Unlike quite a few threads. Although this might go better in Intellectual.

Anyways, i'd have to say it'd depend on when the feelings started. If it was BEFORE they became step's, then sure, it's fine by me.

Let's just say that they knew each other since the age of four. So basically they grew up together.
