There's no legal right to invade another country, and the moral right tends to be arguable, in most if not all circumstances. I would not claim attacking others, 'deserving' or not as a 'right'. Sometimes, it's something we need to do. It's not something we have a legal or moral right to do.</sub>

You're looking at this from a black and white perspective Deis, and unfortunately War is never black and white, as this current war should show everyone.

I was actually talking about the definition of the word 'right'. The only rights are those we give ourselves, that we agree to give each other. Any one of us could go out there and kill someone, but we know that there would be repercussions for us, and for anyone who committed the same crime against us. As a group, we have agreed that we all deserve to be safe from random murder, and we punish those who break that agreement. War isn't a right - it's a more complex issue than that. Even self-defence isn't legally a right, considering recent cases of the perpetrators suing the victims, for whatever reason.</sub>

Self Defense is a legal right, however it isn't often carried out accordingly. You can only use self defense to the same degree of your attack if you are legitimately in fear that your life is in danger.

What I'm saying is that you're saying no one has the right to go and attack someone else after they've been attacked themselves, which I disagree with. You are looking at this from a purely black and white perspective because you're going by the book definition, which you can't always use.

You do indeed have the power to go to war, and the belief. There will be repercussions. Sometimes things, pleasant or unpleasant, are necessary. But 'right' does not apply (as in 'the right to...'. Right as in morally so is even more complex).</sub>

I'm not misinterpreting anything. You are saying that we don't have a right to go attack someone with our military (in the dulled down sense). I said that I believe you can't look at this being a right in such a black and white sense and that I think we have the right to go attack someone if they are threatening our survival. Difference of opinion, but I don't think you can say there isn't a right to counteract if we're attacked based simply on a definition of a word. You have your opinion and I have mine, but to come out and boastfully say that you're immediately right and everyone else is wrong is a bit ignorant.

Not sure about this though, I prefer to believe the preachings of a program on a while back purely to discredit inconvienient truth saying that throughout history temperatue has actually gone up BEFORE carbon dioxide, or something along those lines. There's probably been a video to discredit that by now, but hey, that way's more interesting. The world's most powerful countries should of course take positive steps as they've begun to do, but trying to enforce the same restrictions on africa is just ridiculous. If they're trying to industrialise, solar panels aren't worth shit.
