Yes it was the motivation but i honestly don't see why its a big issue. And since it was the reason for making this, i don't see how asking American questions is honestly bad?
Even though it's based on the style of the American presidency, that doesn't mean it's a copy or a re-enactment. The site is Canadian, and has people from numerous different countries. Having the questions focus on American issues put some candidates at a disadvantage, and made the answers rather dull to read for non-American's (including myself). That's why when I asked the candidates questions (mostly because I don't know them, and wanted to see which of them had opinions I agreed with), I focused on issues relevant to the site.

I think that's something that could have been considered beforehand, and something to bear in mind for future elections.

Minirizzle

bio

Real Name: Tim
Date of Birth: 22/09/19??
Siblings: 18yr old sister
Gender: Male

Interviewed by: ShinyMilotic

I recently had the pleasure to interview one of Neoseekers Presidental Candidates, Minirizzle. Don't know him well? Well that is the point of this interview, read on to get to know him, and why he should be Neoseekers President.

SM: So Mini, you are one of the few Australians running for Neo Prez, what's it like living down under?

Mini: My first thought would be hot. Beautiful sunshiny days, crystal clear waters and fantastic scenery, combined with the casual and friendly people make Australia a great place to live, and an awesome holiday-spot.

SM: Well being an Australian myself I'll have to agree with you there. Have you ever travelled overseas anywhere out of Australia?

Mini: Absolutely, I've inherited a passion for travelling from my mother. My first travelling experiences were when I was a young child of 5-6, and my family and I after travelling around the whole of our country flew over to the Cocos Keeling Islands, situated in the middle of the Idian Ocean. There were 27 islands all up, forming the shape of a horseshoe. In the 2-3 years we lived there, we were housed on the muslim island, and the main, westerner island. Fantastic lagoon full of sea creatures, and amazing beaches and scenery. While Cocos was my main, and favourite travelling experience, I have been to several other countries; The South Pacific; Fiji, Vanuatu, New Caledonie. Many, many times in Indonesia, and this year I have my eyes set on Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.

SM: Wow, that's pretty impressive. So what are your hobbies? Besides Neoseeker of course.

Mini: Tennis is my main one, and my main physical exercise, besides jogging every morning. I've been playing for 4-5 years now, and loving every minute of it. I play 5 times a week, 2 of those being lessons, 2 being competitions and the other playing socially with friends. I'm a big animal fan, and take my own dogs for my morning jog.

SM: Cool, always good to be active. So how did you come across Neoseeker in the first place?

Mini: Just like what seems most of the site, I came looking for cheats for a particular game, in this case Pokemon Sapphire. I soon became a member, interested by the discussion and game threads the Pokemon Sapphire Forum had to offer. There I made my first friend, megaman10 aka The Lost Soul, and most recently, Nautical Nonsense. From there I moved onto the other Pokemons boards, and became a Moderator in one of them.

SM: As well as your travelling and physical activity, you still have time to be a mod, how is it being a moderator?

Mini: Don't forget my ever-demanding school life! Becoming a Moderator for Pokemon Pearl has been an awesome experience on Neo. I have a fantastic close-knit community, who rarely give me trouble, and I love the varied members and threads in my forums. Of course, you always get some troublemakers, but it's been going pretty smooth, so far.

SM: Do you have any idea what you will do once you finish school?

Mini: I'm interested in several career paths, and so when thinking about my High School Certificate (HSC) choices I'm planning to spread myself out as much as possible. My best and favourite subject is English, with a pathetic talent in Maths, so I guess that influences me. A career in Law has always intrigued me, as has Medicine, since my father manages the theatres in a local hospital, Teaching, particularly in English and Languages, with Japanese being the favoured and Journalism, relying on my English skills.

SM: I guess it's good to have lots of options. Now, you are one of the candidates in the Neo Presidental Election, why is it that people should vote for you?

Mini: I think my best asset in this campaign is that I'm willing to talk to anyone, about any topic or issue. I don't judge people, and I will always listen, and when the need arises, I will act. I make fair decisions, and will always listen to both sides before making a judgement. The fact that I consider myself a friendly person helps people approach me. I feel I am an accurate representation of the people on Neoseeker, being a friendly member and a fair moderator. I try and spread myself out on Neo, looking at as many forums as possible. I tend to be more of a reader than a poster, and the phrase "It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt," is somewhat of a motto for me. Sure, I may not have the intelligence of Rome, or the popularity and fanbase of Studly Cannon, but I feel I would be a friendly, accepting and efficient president.

SM: I like that motto! Is there anything else you would like to say about the Neo Elections?

Mini: Good luck to all the candidates, but vote 1 MR '08!

SM: Great, well good luck with the election, and hopefully some people will realise why you would be great president after reading this, thanks for your time.

Mini: Thank you for taking the time to do this. I'm glad to have known you on this site. And thanks for everyone who reads this, I hope you get a bit of insight into the confusing world of Minirizzle.

Im inclined to agree.

All that amercian stuff bored the hell out of me in about 4 min, as I could care less about most of it. Why not present world issues, not American ones. it makes it look like its the mentality of "Only Amercia matters"

Really? I thought the questions were fine and pretty general. The only ones that seemed to be directly involving the States (IMO) were the "War on Iraq" one and "Who do you Support".

I answered them and all, but I'm in agreement that they probably weren't necessary. The ones that focused on Neo issues seemed to be the most relevant, and anything regarding real politics was a bit out of that range if you ask me, since it's not being followed by everyone, US citizens or otherwise.

That thing took a good half-hour +, too; a couple less questions wouldn't have hurt.
