Criminals tend to do things in patterns which usually does it without reason or remorse but loves doing it. It gives them a thrill or a high if you will. People like them don't deserve to live.}

I agree with FB's last post.
People say "why should we have the right to choose who lives and dies?"

But what murderer has a right to kill somebody too? If someone kills an innocent person (or even rapes them), then they have inadvertantly given up their own right to live by taking someone else's right to live. And eye for an eye.

And with the high standards of some prisons (that allow prisoners to have TVs, game consoles, three course meals, gyms, etc.) why give criminals the luxury of prison time?

An interesting case popped up in the Australia news a few days ago, where a man shot and killed a woman in cold blood.
He had previously been on death row, but was released when the Death Penalty was abolished in Australia. And look what happened decades later - He ruined another family's lives by killing an innocent woman.
And we're supposed to let these people just serve their prison time and hope they're better when they get out? No. If he had been hung when he was supposed to be, then he wouldn't have been able to completely destroy yet another family.

I'm not sure about other countries, but in Australia a "life sentence" is about 21 years. In most cases, that's the maximum that a person can be held in prison. So saying that a criminal should "rot in jail for the rest of their life" doesn't always apply, especially in countries with such lax laws on justice.

I don't believe in the death penalty, nor do I believe in the prison system. Why hire able-bodied citizens to guard other able-bodied citizens? I believe in an eye for an eye and convict labor.

My principle is, whatever you did unto others should be done unto you. If you murdered someone with a firearm, you deserve to die by a bullet to the back of the head. If you poisoned someone over a long period of time, the same should done to you to make you feel your victim's agony. If you raped and killed a girl, you deserve to be hung by the genitals until dead. Harsh? Yes. Cruel and unusual? Maybe. Effective? Most likely.

As for convict labor, use them as slave labor on work that are too dangerous for regular citizens. They may also have a military use. Penal battalions could be organized (with close supervision from regular troops to prevent uprisings, of course) and given the most dangerous and suicidal of assignments. Why clothe and feed these degenerates when we can put them to much better use?

No.

No one person's life is worth more than any other's. No one person should have the right to decide the fate of the life of another. Our life is the only thing we truly possess; it is the one thing that must never be taken by another.

I'm opposed to it, because for some people, a life in prison would be a fate worse than death, it's also not giving people any chance to change, and most importantly, what if someone isn't guilty? It's not even a strong deterrent either, even in countries where you can get the death penalty for almost all indictable offenses, like Saudi Arabi, because they still have very high crime rates.

That is an excellent point and one which cannot be ignored. In those circumstances the judge and executioner are murderers and should be executed if that is how murder is dealt with.

Is that fair? of course not as there could be any number of reasons out of their control why they got the verdict wrong. But what is even less fair is the innocent guy who got executed, they had no hand in anyones death whilst the judge and executioner did.


Until the legal system is 100% reliable and trustworthy then their decisions cannot be trusted to the point that it has the power to end someones life, however much the criminal deserves it (and i definately agree that there are crimes which clearly deserve death but that is not the issue when it comes to the overall integrity of the judicial system).

Yes, I actually would. Oh, guess what, there's this thing called prison to life, right?

Oh that's right, but I forgot! Some countries don't even apply that term to the fullest. For some, "prison in life" equals to what? 25 years? In others, 10, or 15. That's what I find bullshit and they should fix this. If criminals do a heinous act, yes killing someone or any other thing, they should serve eternity behind jail cells to make them think about what they did... for the rest of their life.

What will killing them accomplish? Whoopdee*bleep*ingdoo he's dead, and it's all over. Nobody's learned anything, the crimes still continue. It's bullshit, you're throwing a life away for pathetic mindsets. "I will feel better once that man is dead". I'm sorry, but what the *bleep*? You wanna do to him exactly what the criminal did onto one of your loved ones, thinking YOU will get the better part of the deal, or YOU will still be the better person? That mindset is wack.

If you REALLY want to make the murderer pay, have him behind jail cells, in maximum security for LIFE. And they should damn well start using that term literally. Oh, and "I don't want to pay my taxes for those guys"? Well that's why deportation exists. The worst criminals sometimes get deported out of the country into a more miserable existence, for the rest of their lives.

I ask you, which is the better deal? Throwing a body away or making the murderer think about what he did until his very last breath?
