Anyone recommend a formation plus tactics???

I like 4-4-2 but when I bought Cisse from Auxerre he totally messes me up. I signed him in december of season 1 whilst playing my 4-4-2, he hit 6 goals in 29 games, poor, most of the time I was chopping and changing to get a formation that worked with him in it and suited all my other big players. So in season 2 he played most of it up top on his own and hit 37 in 44(and I had him man marking the GK), my midfield also scored more. Anybody got some ideas???
