Soldier of Fortune Vs. Project IGI |
|
Hi there,
i was recently given 2 games by a friend after me saying i fancied a hitman type of game on the PC - he produced SOF & IGI, having a slow pc @ 333mhz - 128mbram - 32mbvid i obviously cant play the more powerful modern games, but having played IGI on my machine, it runs perfectly - my question is this, i have just reloaded my OS and only want to install one of the games, either SOF or IGI - my main interest in a game is solely stalking enemies with a sniper rifle, preferably through a scope at long distances (i'm a good cleaner ;-) IGI satisfies this very well indeed on the GOD and nuclear levels - having not played or seen SOF does this compare well or better with this element of gameplay?, or is it more like quake with 'blasting' from shotguns, assault rifles being the main objective? - i dont think i will find a game which fits my niche more than IGI but not being a games player and seeing whats out there, i could be mistaken, so from anyone who has played both, a comment would be gratefully recieved as to which in terms of pure sniping is the best for me to go with - and also if there is another game i havent heard of that is out, i know sniper is in thew works. Thanks for any pointers! Louis

Soldier of Fortune is clearly heads above IGI. Having played both, the realism in SOF with the head shots and localized shots (meaning shoot him in the leg, he hops around or in the groin and he grabs himself and falls in pain) Call me sadistic but I like it. In addition I am partial to first person shooters VS third person. Install SOF and you won't think about picking up IGI until you have finished the game!!!

Im also a sniper aficionado...love to snipe the baddies from the rooftop of a building with the scope mode. If you are in the lookout for games that have great sniper shooting try Tactical Ops Assault on Terror. Deus Ex and Max Payne also have great sniping sequence.

duno if Deus Ex or Max Payne would run on that system?
I would agree that SOF is way above IGI...

I have IGI, my friend has Soldier of Foortune. And seeing as the AI sucks in IGI, go for SOF. It rocks so hard.
