re: Karts Discussion

Well let's get more on topic.....They say the lightweights karts have the best acceleration, but I always get past at the start by the heavyweights, even if I get a boost !

re: Karts Discussion

If you play on 150cc mode it's quite impossible to don't be passed after the beginning of a race, even if you used a boost... On the other hand, if you try that on 50cc mode nobody will pass you...

re: Karts Discussion

True, it's ridiculous in 150cc cause the computer is a right cheater. The computer karts who win and come in 2nd and 3rd place seem to be good, disrespective of their karts. Karts like Bowsers which if you look at the stats, has one star of acceleration somehow manage to accelerate as fast as you do in say the Bullet Bill which I think has 4 stars (might be a bit wrong there). It's the same for top speed, if I race in Bowser's Kart which has 5 stars of top speed and I then reach my top speed on a straight, the computer will always manage to go quicker than me even if it's a kart with a lower top speed.
Anyone know what I mean?

Yeah but Nintendo made this mode so to challenge you. It would be too easy if the CPU wouldn't cheat...

re: Karts Discussion

In some ways the CPU still cheats a little...just not like before. In N64 MK the CPU karts had a "catch-up" trick that made them faster when you passed them, but they didn't use weapons on you (except lightning, bananas, & Fake boxes). That's gone, but now the CPU is much more agressive.
Also remember when you're going fast in a 5* kart & the CPU blows by you, they may be under the effect of either a mushroom or mini-turbo. They mini-turbo more often at higher skill levels.

he CPU also can use red shells to hit you. In Mario Kart 64 the CPU wasn't able to do that...

It's better that way, It was boring before, once you get a fair bit ahead it was all over. in DD there are items the CPU can use to stop you like blue shells, red shells etc.

The SMK was the most boring for that, they never threw you red shells, Mario and Luigi always had stars when you got near them...

Exactly, but still for some reason the game was not boring, it was still great to play.

Which is the slowest car in your opinion, I would have to say the Waluigi car.

I think the Waluigi Kart has the worst speed too.

Who do you think has the worst acceleration ? This time, I think it's the Piranha Pipes.

Yeah the pirana pipes has the worst accerlation, though the bowser kart is almost as bad, I hate slow accerlation karts.

Yeah, even if they have not a too much high speed, the lightweights are the best in my opinion, I don't care about weight too.

Well you do have to look at weight, because the heavy weights can only use the slower karts, the lightweights can use the better karts.

*cough* you mean the lightweights get to use the more agile karts and the heavyweights get to use the tanks.
The lightweight's arent necessarily better...I hate the way you get pushed around by every other computer character when in a lightweight. That's why for the later cups I used a Heavy Kart, on the startline you just plough straight through the little ones

re: Karts Discussion

The heavyweights karts have a too slow acceleration, that's why I don't like them a lot.Sure I can care somehow for the weight, but I usually watch more the acceleration and the top speed.
