Yeah, yeah, I know it's likely been asked before, but I'm curious.

Wu's got style (C'mon...big red overcoats rock ), Wu's got some serious bloodline (Sun Tzu!), Wu's got some SERIOUS juggling abilities! Zhou Yu, Lu Xun, Gan Ning....almost a circus, they've got so many jugglers.

Eh, I must confess, i'm a bit of a fan of Wu, myself. I just find that, on the whole, their characters are more fun to play as. Zhou Yu has long been my favorite character in the game (since DW2), and yes, he and Lu Xun are the combo gods. Unfortunately, not s'much with Gan Ning anymore, since they changed his Special; but the Squaresoft Reject will always have a special place on my game. And, for anyone who says they need a high-powered offensive powerhouse; well, Huang Gai and Taishi Ci are flat-out nasty in that regard. And beatin' sticks are fun; i don't think anyone can deny that.

That said, all three sides do have people i enjoy playing; however, when all is said and done, Wu stands above the others. Fire wins battles.

Incidentally, i also HATE fighting AGAINST Wu because, they have, hands down, the MOST crossbowmen and archers of the Three Kingdoms. I've always despised fighting them for that reason... Packs and packs of crossbowmen are NOT fun!

But, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Yeah, archers are the devil...but they are rather helpful when on your side.

Personally, I always set my bodyguards to Crossbow and Attack, and let them shoot commanders in the back while the Commander's guarding against my attacks. Very successful

Also, Gan Ning's new musou does have its advantages--he's faster than Red Hare for 10 seconds if you can pick up an Imperial Seal

What are you people talking about? The Shu kingdom has always been the best way to go. Ever since the begging they have always had the chips stacked against them and they still pulled through. Liu Bei is one of the greatest strategist ever and he has the best generals in the game. Tell me who could actually stand up the Zhang Fei, Guan Yu or Zhao Yun? The answer is no one! The only reason the other factions were so strong is they had a long time to prepare for the last fight for the control of China.

I'd have to choose Wei. They just have the manpower and willpower to win. Plus, Wei has my fav char, Zhang He. Beautiful! Heh, they did actually win the Three Kingdoms war anyway... Shu died out first, then Wu.

But I've gotta admit, Wu does have the most interesting characters. Gan Ning is so weird he was my instant fav Wu warrior. Who in the world can beat an insane rebel pirate, anyway?

Shu still holds out, though. With some of the most famous names in Chinese history, I might add. Too bad Guan Yu was beheadded, he was spiffy!

Well, i must give credit where credit is due; "Wolverqueen" was, in fact, first posted by me, but the term was coined by my friend who saw me playing as him one day, and not by me personally.

And, as i've said before, i don't have anything in particular against the other factions; Wu's just my personal favorite. I have several characters from the other factions that i greatly enjoy playing; Zhao Yun, Xiahou Dun, Ma Chao and, yes, Wolverqueen all stick out on the list. But, someone went and pointed out that historically, Wei was the winning side. I can respect that, i suppose, but there's also something to be said for a video game that lets you change history.

But, again, that's just my opinion, i could be wrong.

Well, seeing as the general consensus on this thread has been Wu (Yes!! ), I don't suppose anybody knows where I could get pictures of any of the weapons from Wu characters? I'm thinking of putting together a website, and a weapons section would be nice.

Each kingdom has traits that I like, though I'm partial to Shu. Wei is like the LA Lakers, they're the team to beat. They have such a massive army and so many good fighters and they know it. That's their only weakness, their reliance on numbers. Like Zhuge Liang said, they are many, but they are rabble - basically they have to outnumber the enemy to win. Plus, they have the biggest weapons: huge clubs, oveersized swords and axes, goes right along with their "bigger is better" mentality. Shu has the most virtuous purpose of the three, fighting for the people and restoration of the Han Dynasty. Unity, loyalty, and mutual trust are their strengths. Almost all of them fight with the similar weapons - spear or pike of some sort - which is an example of their unity. Now Wu has the most personality which is why most people say they like Wu. They're original, they're crafty. They may be have smaller numbers, but they're crazy, and that evens it out. They have the most original display of weapons, which is the reasons many people gave for liking them. They range from double swords to double rods to chakrams to fans. They also have the most women, though Zhen Ji from Wei can hold her own with her flute. My choice is the Shu, because it's amazing how they have similar weapon but still have different movements. And I'm sorry, Pang Tong is the undercover beast of the Shu, cause you just don't expect him to fight like he does. Makes me wonder why he keeps getting beat in the Cheng Du stage....
