	Log in to remove this sponsored message So my current setup is: Amd phenom II B50 3.1GHz 4GB RAM 9800GT 512mb This setup has been with me for a few years now and has been playing the latest games (e.g farcry 3, gta 4, saints row 3, cod mw3 etc) on medium/high (if im playing on dx 9/10 settings) or low/ medium on games built on dx 11 (if that makes sense...) Anyways, i m thinking that its time to upgrade this rig by getting a new graphics card but I dont know much about graphic cards and dont know what to look for when buying one. I did Stumble upon this offer on the GTX 650: link My budget is around £60-70 so im thinking of getting this since it is on offer although should I wait for other cards to come down to a lower price... upgrade -------------------

	I think its best to note that I dont mind getting a card if i get about 30-35 frames per second whilst the game is running on the maximum possible settings. Since anything above 30fps is find by me. -------------------

Since anything above 30fps is find by me. If you want that for every game you might need a card in the £150 region, even then your CPU may hold you back. Games like Crysis, Battlefield 3, Metro 2033, Farcry 3, they won't run max settings at 30fps on something like a GTX650 (They didn't run that well on my HD7770 atleast, at 1680x1050). My new HD7850 is overclocked and runs Crysis 3 at 30fps maxed and Farcry 3 at about 40-50 maxed. So you'll probably run games at medium-high nicely with your price range.

	thats fine by me. Btw, my moniters resolution is 1600x900 60MHz. Does that make a difference to what gpu I should buy? -------------------

	Yes, your monitor's resolution and maximum frame rate can make a determining factor in your choice of video card. That, and researching how the games you like will perform using that particular resolution with a particular video card. A site where I often go to view performance benchmarks is AnandTech.
