Should run everything on ultra.If you need a monitor your going to have to downgrade your video card.A $10 keyboard/mouse can be purchased at Walmart.Also that hdd is a little slow but should only make load times a little longer than usual besides that it wont hurt gaming at all
All parts together (including mouse/keyboard) should be around $830.A fairly good price for that awesome graphics card.Also I know that the cpu is a dual core but it has hyperthreading which really boosts the power to near that of a quad core.

also tips:Ask on forums for what people think of your build.Usually alot of revisions can be made that decrease the price and you still keep the performance.Also putting this together,the hardest part is cables and that is still easy as long as you can look at the pictures in your motherboard manual.Mainly just keep up reading on forums you will usually find out about new releases etc etc.

I have an old hard drive that has been laying around. It's a Seagate 160GB ST3160023AS, PN 9W2814-033. I also realized that I don't need too much space. Would choosing a 500gb or even 300gbish hard drive be a better choice? Also adding my old 160gb?
Also salvaged from an old computer is a Dell 2D410. Would that be an appropriate replacement for the set-up here?
4gb of ram should be enough for gaming, right? I won't be multitasking while gaming.

Also, how do you go about looking for parts that work together?

Most new games are 20gb plus so that hdd will fill up super fast.Also you cant beat that price for that much space as a 500gb drive is going to be the same price.What is a Dell 2D410?A monitor?Like I said a monitor doesnt really matter as it will most likely do at least 720hd.Most games only take at the most 2gb or RAM and if it does take 4gb RAM you are still meeting the requirements so it will still work regardless you might just want to spend the extra $20 on another stick of RAM as that will "future-proof" your rig.

picking parts:Mostly everything has to plug into the motherboard like if you have a SATA hdd and your mobo can fit SATA you can use that hdd with your mobo really most current motherboards (lga 1155 socket that fits your processor) should work with all current video cards and drives (as they usually stop selling older socket motherboards).So really if you have a modern mobo it should use 99% of all the stuff on newegg.
