The playbook will play high resolution videos but it's not actually an HD screen it's 1024x600 actually. The tablet should scale the wmv file to the width of the screen when playing it back but there's no way to actually raise the quality of the film above whatever the original bit-rate is. Usually systems like this will use scaling techniques to try and improve the image in these situations.
