Radeon HD 8970 would require up to 250 Watts for calculations and 3 Watts when idle. Radeon HD 8970 would be equipped with HDMI port with 2 additional mini-DisplayPorts. Radeon HD 7990 delayed According to ORB-Hardware Radeon HD 7990 may be delayed because AMD cannot produce sufficient cooler for this card (which requires lots of power – far more than Radeon HD 6990). Card is not planned for first and second quarter of this year. 	GTX 780 will definitely be a 28 nanometer thing and AMD HD 8970 is also speculated to be at 28 nm. So um... no I guess.

	I want to know where the GTX 6 series cards fit in on the GTX 5 and 7 comparison. I know the GTX 6 series was merely released to give AMD competition and they weren't really trying with it, but it'll be interesting to see just how much of a step up the GTX 7 series will be.

	Not being able to produce a sufficient cooler? That's got to be the easiest part of creating a high end dual graphics card. Surely it will cost a little more than usual this time around to produce a good cooler as it has to deal with a higher TDP but it's very doable. The nvidia slides are horribly fake. 	well if they remain at 28nm, screw them. just like the CPUs, forget ivy bridge and the next one after that. the one AFTER the one after ivy bridge will be the one with the die shrink, and THAT will be the one worth getting. -------------------

	Are you saying that you would buy all new high end stuff every year? The point is that the next level won't be THAT MUCH better. I don't even have the patience to reinstall the operating system that often.

Hii not buying a new CPU for a while makes sense as his is probably faster than what he actually needs currently. My Phenom IIx4 is still holding up well to every game that I throw at it with 60fps at least. To make the statement that none of the upcoming CPU's will be worth it until Broadwell (The one after Haswell, which is after Ivybridge) is inane. Generalizations and ambiguous words are horrible things in relation to tech. Also, I'd love to see where you know that any generation won't be 'that much better'. Some generations have huge jumps in performance in the cores, others very little. That's such an inane generalization that I don't even know where to begin... well sure, you can get a newer, better architecture, but what i personally look for in hardware is the efficiency, or the power consumption of it. performance per watt, as well as performance per dollar. i just have high hopes for that particular hardware -------------------

	Oooh this stuff is always fun. Im guessing the 780 will be a good amount faster, but im, for whatever reason, excited to see what the 880 might be. 4xx series was beefy but hot and loud, 5xx series was a refinement of the 4xx series, 6xx series looks to be almost like a conservative offering of something new and juicy, 7xx could be an enhanced step up of the 6xx series, and im hoping the 8xx series is just all out retarded performance. Even if its as hot and loud as the 4xx series, dont care. Just a total beast in every way.

	According to that link, the 790 will only use 125w more than my 6950? Just wondering what exactly the specifications speculations are based on?
