	Log in to remove this sponsored message I have the Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD5-B3 and I see a new BIOS is available (Which I need because the power on problems I have sometimes) and I'm having this error message when I try to install it Can anyone help please?! Thanks

	There should be a 64 bit version of the update program on their website. If not, I personally would run/install/virtualize a 32 bit OS (alongside or within your current one, not replacing it) to the run the BIOS update. ------------------- www.neonshift.com

	FLASHSPI.EXE is a 16-bit DOS program, you're not meant to run it from within Windows. There's some instructions from GigaByte here, but that assumes you have a floppy drive still. Instead I would boot into FreeDOS from a USB drive, with both flashspi.exe and Z68XUD5.F10 copied to it. Once you're into FreeDOS, run the command flashspi Z68XUD5.F10 and it will begin the update. ------------------- 　／l、ﾞ（ﾟ､｡７　l、ﾞ ~ヽ　じしf_, )ノ

	So I downloaded freedos and stuck it on a USB stick (its a disk image file) and the bios update is on my storage drive (d:). How do I boot from the USB stick? And does the update need to be on the USB too?

	Sorry, I forgot that they didn't have a USB installer on their site You'll need to follow these instructions to make the USB drive bootable, it would be best to have the BIOS update on the drive as it will be easier to find.
