Video card upgrades

Hello, do you think this HP desktop is upgradable with a Radeon 6870?

From the picture of that motherboard, no you will not be able to install any modern graphics card, as it doesn't have a PCIe x16 slot.

What power supply do you have?

There are several PCI-E X1 graphics cards available that would probably offer better graphics performance and would give the added benefit of freeing up system ram. There are quite a few listed on Newegg here. The HIS HD5450 1GB looks to be good value but as to how much better than your onboard it's hard to say? A little research may be needed. I can say however that you aren't going to get anywhere near the performance of a 6870 on that system.

i have a radeon 6870 card i can play most games in ultra. my frame rate is intresting on skyrim heavy combat eg 2 dragons on me it starts to go odd jumps around. generally use fraps to find the best settings and the frame rate in multi combat areas my frame hopes around 50 fps to bout 17 then back to 50 every 5 secs or so and constantly jumps maening sometimes laggy gameplay in parts. doesnt really bother me at all jus wondering if anyone else has issues with this.
