	Log in to remove this sponsored message Hey there, I bought a Acer Aspire 5830TG-6659 with a WD Scorpio Blue 750GB HDD(Device manager gives "WD7500BVPT-22HXZT1" for a model code). Lately I've been noticing that when I'm transferring large files from one partition to another, or even when I'm moving a DivX movie from my HDD to a flash drive the transfer speeds steadily go down to the point where it gets to 1kb/s and then error's out. Peak speeds are usually at 20mb/s, and it just goes downhill from there. Just wondering if this is normal or do I have a HDD problem? I tried to run benchmarks in HDTune and it came up with an error saying that it couldn't run because I have partitioned my hard drive, does anyone know of a way to get around that? I also did an error test and it came up saying that I have 2 blocks that are corrupted, while the health tab says that I have some bad sectors as well. I've got Disk Defrag set on a weekly interval if that helps. ------------------- GO CANUCKS GO!!!

	is the hard drive under warranty? if so, replace it. you can still use your hard drive, but half a gig worth of damaged space is still something i wouldnt want on my drive. as for why you get those transfer problems, i have no idea im afraid... -------------------

	Hmm. Seeing as I can't exactly back up my information because my HDD won't maintain a steady speed, what other alternatives would you suggest? ------------------- GO CANUCKS GO!!!

	I had this issue too I think. Try downloading an alternate program for data transfer to see if it helps. I think I used Tera Copy. If it doesn't, transfer files over for backup one at a time and send the drive in for replacement. ------------------- So what's the use of knowing the truth if no one's gonna believe you?

	I tried Tera Copy, and what happened was that it would appear to show very constant speeds, but as soon as the transfer was complete it gave me an error. I may just have to resort to using multiple cloud storage places if I can't get steady speeds. ------------------- GO CANUCKS GO!!!
