I sort of agree with Randome regarding the power supply, as a 750W PSU would easily fit the bill, but in my opinion it is best to go big the first time so you won't have to upgrade it anytime soon.

Well first the OCZ ZX Series 850W Fully-Modular 80PLUS Gold High Performance Power Supply you suggested is twenty dollars more on Newegg than the KINGWIN Lazer i was looking at so i thought more is better, not sure.

Also i was wondering what SDD's and HDD's would be suggested. I didn't know i needed both and i'm already over budget.

And the Motherboard says it has a built in audio chipset, would i need a sound card with that already built in?

Main goal right now is to get the best performance for as low a price i can get without having to just settle with something that will make me cringe later.

My shopping cart on newegg is already at 1900$ when my original goal was 1000$ And that's without a HDD and a good monitor and all the other accessories.

A sound card is not a necessity unless you have very high standards for your audio, high end audio equipment or if you work professionally with audio. The onboard on modern motherboards is perfectly fine for most people. I think a good course of action is to try the onboard sound first and if it's not good enough for you then it would be easy enough to install a dedicated soundcard later.

The PSU depends on whether you want to run a single card or eventually have the option to add another, if you do want the option to add another then I'd recommend sticking with the Kingwin (an 850W unit would power two GTX 580s). If not then you could cut back to a ~650W unit, which will run a GTX 580 and therefore any single card - as well as a lot of cards in CF/SLI.

The most obvious way to save money is go down to a GTX 570.

I chose the 650d because I own it's big brother the 800D. The 800D is the best case out there, hands down. The 650D offers almost everything the 800D offers, except in a smaller form factor. I've gone through many cases since I first built my PC, and I was always trying to find the perfect case. I've gone through 6 cases in the past couple of years, and I've never been fully satisfied with any of them until I found the 800D. I used to think I wanted an over-the-top case, something jaw-dropping and insane. But I can tell you right now, none of those cases can even compare to anything like the 800D. And the 650D is like the little brother to the 800D.


The HAF X is just plain ugly IMO. The 650D is sleek and elegant, and Corsair's cases are the most well-designed, smart, beautiful cases out there, hands down, no questions asked. They make sure every single minute detail is taken care of for all of their cases, low end - high end. I can't even recommend anything but Corsair anymore as far as cases go. The one thing that I hate about Corsair's cases are in their lower end models, which use white LED fans on the front instead of either no LED or blue/red LED's. I've owned White LED fans before and they are HORRIBLE looking.



As for the card, I believe two 6870's are better than the GTX 570. Honestly, though, I own two GTX 570's, and at $500 it was well worth it, but on your budget, with the games you're playing? A 6870 makes more sense. A GTX 560 ti would actually be perfect if you're willing to spend any extra money than what I posted originally.


You could save money on the case and go for something cheaper, to get the 560 ti, too. There are a lot of good cases out there that can be had for a lot cheaper. They won't offer nearly as much as the 650D does though.

Oh and i forgot i still need to pick out a cooling unit thingy :/

Newblood I don't understand how you're coming to so much money still?

I'd go with the motherboard nova picked, if you're set on the HAF X then it's a great case, I'm sure you'll be happy with it.

That power supply is WAY overkill, grab the AX750w like I linked, or the 850w Antec Supernova linked.

No SSD, a 60GB SSD is NOT worth it. I've had a 120gb SSD and it was just barely enough for me. Do not get an SSD just to boot windows, it's a waste of money. Seriously, ditch the SSD.

This PSU or this PSU - It's up to you, I'd personally recommend the AX750, purely on looks alone. Otherwise, go for the cheaper Antec and save some money.

The monitor is up to you, as well. You can get the 24" that supernova listed for $200, or the one I listed for $150. The difference is the $150 one is 23" LCD, and the $200 is a 24" LED. So, if you want it bigger and thinner, go with the 24", if you want cheaper and don't mind it being a little thicker, go with the 23"



The total should be anywhere from $1380 - $1470, not including Mail In Rebates.
