Heh, that computer is similar to mine. Even the case looks familiar (although not exactly the same).

Anyway, Football Manager is processor intensive (REALLY processor intensive) so you've got one of the best in there, so you should be running at lightning speeds. I usually top out at about 12-15 nations (high details, all leagues etc) before I start losing my 5 star rating in Football Manager. Also, I've got that exact same video card and it runs the match engine beautifully, so yes, you will have a 5 star 3D rating.

I can't comment on the other games, but I see no reason why it wouldn't run both those games on max settings, they're not graphically intensive from memory.

One piece of advice, I would recommend upgrading the RAM from 4GB to 8GB. You'll notice a significant performance increase, and it'll go along way to running all those games simultaneously in addition to anything else. I've got 16GB of RAM (overkill really, but hey) and I play Arkham Asylum on max settings, whilst playing music and ripping Bluray's to my harddrive with no performance lag whatsoever. 8GB will give you that ability moreso than 4GB, although you should manage alright with the 4GB.

Also, a suggestion: Have you considered adding in a SSD for your Operating System? Add a 60GB one as your first harddrive and then a 1TB harddrive as your 'main' harddrive. I'd highly recommend it if you can afford it, I cold start in sub 30 seconds with mine (which is quick lol). Not absolutely essential, but it'll go a long way to giving you an epic rig. Again, only if you can afford it though.

Otherwise, you've got a pretty nice rig there.

Yep, choose the SSD under your 1st Hard Drive, and then the 1TB Seagate under your second Hard Drive. Coming from personal experience, those fast boot times are magic.

I'm not too sure on those different types of RAM, so I'll tag in hiigaran Chekkaa and Gravity. Those guys should be able to give you far more information on that than I can.

^ Adding onto what walnuts said, runescape should be no problem graphics-wise. I can run runescape at max settings on fixed screen easily, with occasional lag at high-populated areas (although that's expected), and I'm only using an integrated 4200. So runescape should have no problem whatsoever. As for minecraft, you shouldn't have too much of a problem. My friend has a 5770 in his system and he runs minecraft extremely well, so a 6970 should have no problem at all with it.

That's true, although going from a Pentium 4 and an Athlon II didn't show a super significant increase in performance. I was able to play on higher settings with the Athlon II rig, which I currently have now, so the GPU still plays an important part. Although, runescape can still run well on a low-end GPU.

Okay if you're buying this for just RuneScape and Minecraft (and fb manager), don't even bother.

Radeon HD 6970 for RuneScape?

I play RS and Minecraft, and I can tell you that to play both with HD texture packs and everything, you could buy (or build) something MUCH cheaper.

Now, if you plan on playing a lot of games with this PC on max settings @ 1080p, this isn't a bad PC.

I assume you aren't interested in building one and saving loads of money?


Also, what resolution are you playing at?


RuneScape and Minecraft could be played with the i7-2600k alone at max settings/with HD texture packs, since it has integrated graphics inside the chip.

Also, hiigaran is correct, RuneScape is more CPU than GPU, although your GPU is important. The only thing is, you could use a very low end GPU and a somewhat decent (core 2 duo) processor and play it on max settings, especially with low resolutions.

What exactly do you mean by that and how do I go about doing this?

When you're ordering the computer, just select the SSD under the First Hard Drive option, and then the 1TB Seagate under the Second Hard Drive option. When you're using it, and installing stuff, I'd recommend installing everything on your 1TB (which won't be your C Drive), otherwise you'll just have no room on your SSD and you'll just degrade it quickly. Your OS will go on the SSD.

i would definitely go for it. not only does it perform slightly faster, but if you ever do digital media related stuff, the 570 really helps with GPGPU
