	Log in to remove this sponsored message So I was thinking about purchasing a tablet for school purposes (well not only school purposes, for fun too). Specifically the Motorola Xoom, in my opinion much better than the iPad (which I do really like). Before you say anything, let me make it clear that I do not want a laptop, I have one, it's not my kind of thing to take to high school. Also, please don't recommend a netbook, those are the most useless wastes that money could possible buy in my opinion. I really like how the Xoom is on a tablet specific version of Android (Honeycomb), and the hardware specs it has that the iPad is missing. Also, being open source is wonderful in comparison to Apple products. However, one of my biggest concerns is will it be effective to use in school? The main thing I need is to be able to do is make and edit Word documents (Word To Go app? I'm not sure, haven't read up on it). I am not too familiar with the Android OS as I have never owned an Android powered product or taken much time to play with those I do come across. Thanks.

	My roommate has an iPad that he takes to most of his classes. He mainly takes it because he doesn't want to carry around a netbook or laptop, but he still wants to be able to quickly type up notes instead of creating a hurried mess on paper while trying to keep up with those fast-talking type professors. It seems to work for him, so yeah, I'd say go for it if you have the money and are allowed to use them. -------------------

	ipads are not worth it for school. also, its pretty hard to keep up with someone talking, and at the same time concentrating on where to press on a touchscreen, as you can feel for any keys like you would with a normal keyboard. either get a netbook/laptop, or nothing at all. -------------------

	Tablet laptop? Now I have only heard of one of these and it was at CES. Didn't look much into it though.
