	Log in to remove this advertisement I recently purchased a Samsung Sh-b123L Blu Ray combo drive from Newegg. And for some reason I am only capable of viewing blu ray discs if I burn them onto my computer using DVDFab; otherwise, the format goes unrecognized. I used Cyberlink's BD Advisor, and for some reason it does not register my drives ability to read blu rays, stating I do not have a blu ray drive. And yes, I have already updated to the latest firmware using Samsung's Live Update program. In the description when I click on properties for it, it states it as a "CD/DVD" drive. I have no clue why everything BUT DVDFab refuses to recognize blu ray discs. I am guessing the other programs are trying to read them as DVDs, which is still odd. Anyway, my specs are as follows, if this will help. Windows 7 Ultimate 64 -bit 1GB MSI Radeon HD 5830 8GB G. Skill Ripjaws 1600mhz RAM 2TB Samsung Spinpoint HDD 3.2Ghz Amd Phenom II X6 Black Edition CPU

	Evidently I CAN view blu rays without ripping them, just solely through DVDFab's preview screen. Which means that I may very well be right in assuming Media Player Classic and Cyberlink PowerDVD 10 ARE trying to read the discs as DVDs. So I guess I need software strictly for viewing blu ray discs.

	I'm using Media Player Classic Home Cinema, v1.4.2689.0 (As part of K-Lite Codec Pack), and it plays Bluray disks fine for me. ------------------- 　／l、ﾞ（ﾟ､｡７　l、ﾞ ~ヽ　じしf_, )ノ

	I try to open a blu ray with either MPC-HC or Cyberlink PowerDVD 10, and I get an "unrecognized format" message. The ONLY software that acknowledges teh fact that i am using a blu ray is DVDFab 8. It seems the other two are trying to load it as a DVD or something. Because, like I said earliar, when I used blu ray Advisor, it passed on eveerything BUT the blu ray drive, stating I did not have one, despite it OBVIOUSLY being a blu ray combo drive, with the latest firmware
