	Log in to remove this sponsored message Hey everyone, I've made the decision to get building a new computer after Christmas (when I should have a bit more money) and have been looking at what build. Firstly, here is my idea of a suitable build: http://www.amazon.co.uk/wishlist/25OCV0HHSYL4N I am nowhere near an expert on Computers and so this list may be foolish! Any help would be great. Here is what I am looking for: Budget: Hopefully around the £500-550 mark. Will possibly go up to a little over £600. Your Location: UK Main Purpose: Gaming and graphics editing, looking to play the latest games. Multitasking: A run a lot of programs now and will carry on the same on a new build, using Photoshop, Dreamweaver and other programs open at the same time. Games: Football Manager 2011 currently, which isn't running well on my current PC. With a new PC any of the latest games will be possible like Black Ops/Medal of Honour. Case: Midtower preferably RAM: 4GB minimum, 6GB if possible Hard Disk Drive: 1TB What I currently have at the moment is a Packard Bell IMEDIA J2412. I've had this since Christmas 07. It's specs are: 2GB RAM Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E4500 2.2GHZ NVIDIA GeForce 8400GS 250GB Hard Drive -------------------

	I can't remember the exact specs dude I know it was an i5 Core Processor, 4GB Corsair DDR3 RAM, 1TB Hard Drive, Blu Ray Drive, CPU Fan Cooler, Intel H55 motherboard, don't think I've forgotten anything else. -------------------

	Got a case yet? Also, that PSU you have isn't really very good. Too cheap for 750w, it won't last one. Tbh, you can save £££ if you get a amd processor and motherboard. Should we suggest you one or are you sticking with the i5? There isn't alot of difference between amd and intel's processors. -------------------

	I haven't sorted out a case yet so I'm open to any suggestions. And yeah it did look a bit cheap for a PSU, what would you recommend? And I heard good things about the i5 but if the AMD is similar and cheaper I'll go for that (I'm a student so money-saving is important!) -------------------

	i kinda had the same budget as you. This is what i have, altogether it was approx £515 mobo cpu case ram graphics o only added the main things, not psu, os etc I built this comp about a year ago, so things have changed. You could go with this build although get a better graphics card, cpu and probably ram. -------------------

	The graphics card in that Novatech build is not a gaming card, you would definitely have to replace it.

	Ah ok, other than that is it a good build? It seems to be quite cost effective getting a motherboard bundle than individual parts. -------------------

	The PSU in that build is a bit of a question mark. It's probably a Novatech branded one, in which case it will either be this: Novatech 750W ATX Power Supply for AMD and Intel Motherboards 20Pin + 4Pin Manf. Code: NOV-PSU750 http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/prods/components/powersupplies/novatech/nov-psu750.html Which is FAR too cheap for a 750W PSU and looks crap, therefore I wouldn't touch with a barge pole. Or this: Novatech PowerStation Black Edition 750W Silent ATX2 Modular Power Supply Manf. Code: NOV-PSB750 http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/prods/components/powersupplies/novatech/nov-psb750.html Apparently someone bought a lower wattage version of this which was a rebranded OCZ ModXStream Pro. If that's the case for this one, then there shouldn't be any problems buying this, but this isn't a know fact - you would have to contact Novatech to find out - and until it is a known fact, and even then, can't be recommended. The Antec High Current Gamer 520 is Seasonic built, based on the S12II Bronze design. Novatech build vs my build: CPU: Novatech Mobo: My build (due to having Sata 6Gbps and USB3) RAM: Tie GPU: My build PSU: My build (Might be higher wattage and modular, but mine is likely to be much higher quality) Case: My build (edges it) Heatsink: My build HDD: Unknown, probably a tie My build: Blu-ray rewritable (if you're prepared to just get an ordinary SATA DVD Drive then you could probably get one of the BDs at £50) Novatech: ordinary SATA DVD drive OS: would add £70 to my build Making it £690 vs £580. So I'm not convinced about being cost effective, when it would cost you much more to get a BD drive and a better GPU into that Novatech build.

	Hi guys, I've been doing a bit of browsing and have found a seller on eBay selling this: P6TD Deluxe Motherboard i7 920 quad core Processor Coolermaster CM690 II Advanced Case For £325. I thought this was a really good price and am looking to get a deal with him done over the next few days (as I would have to collect the item). Can anyone confirm this to me that it is a good price? -------------------

But I would have thought that it would mean stretching your budget to get other components within it.

	Yeah it would but I thought this a bit too tempting! Also, I would be trading in my old PC to him (as he runs a PC shop) and would be getting £120 back on that. So I would be paying £205, leaving me about another £300 to get the other parts. -------------------
