	Log in to remove this sponsored message • I've been getting pop-ups in Firefox lately, which hasn't happened before. It also has a habit of crashing more often. • Microsoft Word won't let me print or save half the time. I attempt this sometimes and it crashes. Plus, whenever I try to edit the print setting because I want to print a specific page or only in black and white, it'll crash. • If my computer is on for a certain period of time, eventually I'll be unable to open any additional windows. If I have Firefox already open, it'll work fine. But if I close it and try to open another Firefox window, it won't open. Also, if I try to go to my Start menu and turn it off or restart, I'll press the buttons and then nothing will happen. I was recently given advice saying to use the Task Manager to close programs taking up a significant portion of my CPU. It works, but sometimes I can't get the Task Manager to open when I need it to. • Just tried doing a system restore and none of them worked. • My sound card will randomly stop working. 	Ohhh...1GB of RAM, that's probably the issue. I had the EXACT same issue a few weeks ago on Firefox before it just kind of fixed itself when I managed to clear some shit off of my computer. Anyways, 1GB of RAM is quite a low amount to be honest. That could also explain why your Sound Card stops working. I'm not completely sure though, that's Hiig's field, but I would bet my rations on the big issue with the freezing and all that has to do with your GB.

	alright, can you describe the types of pop ups you are getting? as a side note, there is a firefox extension called adblock plus that might work. not sure about popups, but it does block a lot of ads. now those are pretty low end specs. about the same as my. i have a P4 3 ghz, and 768 megs of RAM. this might be able to help you. if you have a lot of processes running, then freeing up some system resources by disabling startup entries or services will help you. also, im assuming you are running SP3? if not, download it from microsoft update. -------------------

	Yeah, I'm running a fairly old computer. It's a Dell Dimension 2400 and virtually no hardware upgrades besides me increasing my RAM to 1GB last year. As for the pop-upo, I'll make a note of what kind of advertisements I see the next time I get one. As for disabling start-up programs, I remember doing something like that before, but completely forgot where on my computer I went to do that. Can somebody refresh my memory? 	what happens if you are browsing in another internet browser like internet explorer? quote most people use the Microsoft Configuration Tool by typing msconfig in the Run dialog box. But imo you'd be better off disabling startup programs with spybot, which has this feature as built-in. msconfig works, and is the primary tool to use, but spybot has an even better one. in spybot, click the menu called 'mode', and switch to advanced. some buttons will appear on the sidebar. go to tools. then go to system startup. you will have your startup list, with some colour codes. green entries are definitely safe, yellow entries might be unsafe, not required, resource hogs, or user preference entries, and red entries are ones that much be removed. entries in white are either unknown, or in an 'other' category. -------------------

	Open up the event viewer and see if there are any errors,Right click my computer and go to manage.Youll see event viewer look at the logs there.If there are any errors they might tell you whats going on. -------------------

	yeah but you need to look for something specific. errors can happen all the time on computers without you even noticing them. -------------------
