Check out my cable management...

Any ideas as to how to organise those cables? At the moment they are being very badly organised by twisty ties that are designed for fastening sandwich bags etc. Would something like this be good? Or should I just buy some ties like these? I don't want to end up putting them in and then not being able to undo them...

What do you people think?

re: Check out my cable management...

Wire management is what you want to look for you did post two of those from eBuyer, you could use something like PP Wire Management Kit it has lots of nifty ways to tuck & hid the wires out of view and when you get ready to move to a new case simply cut the zip times and pop off the holders.

Here is a link to the front part of the wire management so you can see what other stuff you can look for.

re: Check out my cable management...

If only it wouldn't double the price to ship that to the UK . Out of the links from kustompcs.co.uk, what would you say is the best option; spiral wrap, "flexowrap", braiding, or the "F6 braid?"

re: Check out my cable management...

use some zip ties with the cables and secure them to the hard drive mounting rack on the side with your mobo mounting plate. not much else you can really do in this case. no point spending more than that, especially on this rig (assuming its the one in your sig)

re: Check out my cable management...

Go with the spiral wrap so you can unwind it later with ease, the braiding looks like a more permanent solution.

and they look good so when you get an upgrade you have the option of keeping these to make it look great.

re: Check out my cable management...

But if I got those I would still need some cable ties to secure them to the case and keep them out of the way. I found a site selling cable ties dirt cheap (from £1.50 for 1000) and they had them sorted by their size. For instance, 100mm x 2.5mm. The 100mm must be the length, so what's the 2.5mm measurement? this is the page. I'm probably just being stupid here and at first I thought it was the depth until I saw the ones that were 12.7mm.

EDIT: I won't need any with a length of over 100mm, will I?

so what's the 2.5mm measurement?
well if the length is the long one, and height is neglected, then obviously that 2.5mm is the width. you can ignore all but the length though. this isnt heavy duty stuff. and no, you wont need anything longer than 100mm.

re: Check out my cable management...

Thanks. I'll buy some cable ties and spiral wrap and maybe post a pic when I'm done.

Um... How much spiral wrap do you think I should buy?
EDIT: Is 8mm width good?

they all come in 1m lengths. that will suffice, as i doubt you will use more than 75% of it.
