LCD monitor for a gaming desktop |
|
I'm looking for an LCD monitor for a gaming desktop. I'm wondering what size monitors and what screen resolutions are good for playing full-screen games? Suggestions on specific monitors would also be appreciated. My budget is < $2,500 but I am willing to go (much) over if you find a high-quality LCD monitor.
Thanks. | |

$2500....FOr a monitor?....
Well, if you have that much money to piss away on a monitor, why not go all out? Instead of a monitor, get a good resolution Projector, and game on a big screen? Or you could get several monitors and create a panoramic view (best for driving games and the like). Assuming your PC rig is good enough (but considering you're willing to spend so much on a monitor, I have to imagine your rig is a solid $2000+ beast). Alternatively, give me $2000 and I'll pick out a really nice ~$500 or less monitor XD -------------------

LOL... i don't think the $2500 will cover this monitor but if you have the money, then go for it...

quote hiigaranLol, we think alike, I thought of it to, but decided against mention it because last I heard (recent posting about it) it was still $8000, above even this guy's massive budget for a monitor. -------------------

Only 8,000? That's inexpensive for a screen of that size. The original plasma TVs were that price.

Just to point out the obvious, if you were willing to get a CRT monitor, you could get higher resolutions for lower prices.
I picked up one for free that has up to something like 2500x2000 resolution. The thing is insane. I forget what the actual figures were. -------------------

yeah, but who wants CRT monitors anymore? theyre big, bulky, dust magnets. sure theyre cheaper, but id prefer LCD monitors. also, CRTs use more power.

quote hiigaranonly a 2880x900 resolution? You couldnt even play a 1080p video at native resolution on it because its too short. ------------------- quote TurMoiL911
