First of all, you need a motherboard (mobo). Look for it to be AM2+ and for it to fit in your case (micro-ATX).

I would recommend to change around a few things, look for a 45mn (the lower nm, the less power taken and the less heat made) AMD Phenom II x3/x4 (the x3 are proven in some cases to be better than a x4 in gaming) with a standard ATX mobo (I would prefer a Gigabyte or ASUS, but any will suffice) as well as a larger case (Mid-tower or Full-tower).

You should check out newegg.com if you live in the USA... they have great prices and according to people they take your RMAs without question

EDIT: I hope I make sense to you... also you need an operating system (OS), or you can use the Windows 7 RC until sometime along 2010 and then buy the complete Windows 7. You also might want to check this guy's build, It's like yours except better and around the same price (your is without a mobo and OS).

re: building my first computer, need help

First of all saying you want to play Crysis on high settings isn't all that helpful.

What would be helpful is to tell us what resolution you'll be playing crysis on high at. If you don't know the resolution then let me know what size monitor you have.

Also I'd get some DDR2(800) instead, Mushkin is a good brand so you can stick with that.

Buska covered most everything else for now.

Exchange the CD-rom for a DVD burner. Runs you about $20 - $25.

re: building my first computer, need help

If you can get this before the deal runs out get this build.

AMD phenom II x4 940 deneb 3.0ghz with a Biostar 790gx mobo, combo is $80 off.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.209473

For the graphics card I would suggest this 4890, depending on your resolution this may not be enough, a sli or crossfire system may be better but it is more expensive.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150359

Gskill 1066mhz ddr2 5-5-5-15 timings
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231166

Same seagate harddrive since that is more of a user preference item
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148261

OCZ 600w power, $20 mail in rebate
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341017

Lg dvd drive/burner, needed if installing from a disk. If you are downloading the game you dont need this but it's nice to have.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136167

Thermaltake Strike mx case, very nice for the money and you can switch between fan lighting colors with a press of a button (red blue green and alternating)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811133069

If you do not plan on overclocking your cpu, which in the 940's case you will not need to do, you do not need the heatsink fan. but if you want one i would recommend this xigmatek for the price but if you are flexible with the money maybe go for something better.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835233005

Kept the same keyboard as again it's a user preference thing but i would suggest buying a mouse with a max dpi of at least 1600.

The sata cable is unnecessary as this motherboard comes with three of them.

keeping the same speakers too as it is user preference.

Total price without aftermarket cooler and mouse is 659.80 + shipping and handling.

Edit: the 940 will work on that motherboard but it will see a decent loss of power

re: building my first computer, need help

Because the 940 is a socket AM2+ CPU, and your motherboard is only standard AM2. So it's the same shape, it will fit in and work fine, but AM2+ is faster, and your motherboard doesn't support those speeds. Basically, using that processor with that motherboard will be wasting some of the speed, therefore wasting money, which you could (and should) spend on a better motherboard to fully utilize the power of your CPU.

why would it be a lot? youre ordering all the parts for a computer in one go. same amounts and same general sizes as your ones. not going to be that much extra.

hii shipping is different for everybody.

You know where I live, and when I buy a full computer I usually end up paying close to $200 for shipping.

It sucks

That CD thing won't play DVDs and games (I think). Plus it's IDE so you would need an adapter I think.

Doesn't Newegg do a lot of free shipping anyway? And usually "over $X" is free, not sure about Newegg though. Never bought more then some RAM from Newegg so I don't know.

re: building my first computer, need help

The difference between am2 and am2+ is that am2 only has a 1ghz hypertransport while the am2+ has a 3.6 ghz hypertransport. The phenom II's run at 2.6ghz hyper transport.
Also on the am2 the multiple cores and integrated memory controller are on the same power plane, and the am2+ puts each on a seperate one.

The shipping isnt "full" shipping for each item like $10 or $15. I live near philly and shipping is usually pretty cheap although most of the parts come from california. But i'm not exactly out on the backwoods trail so it really depends. It only costs 41.01 for my shipping for this build
