Another day, another case review: this time of a something called a Spedo:

That case doesn't seem all that bad. It is a bit expensive. I hate giving out so much money on a case when I know I could put the money towards a new video card or something. I might run into some deals along the road and if I do the Spedo is definitely worth getting.

ive seen better. but when it gets right down to it - why bother spending so much money on the looks if you can improve something that will actually improve your computers performance - like you said, a video card for example. theres always case modding if you really want a good looking computer, provided you have the right tools.

Hi, I just bought the spedo advance case and the internal layout is really amaze me. Especially the side panel fan and the front power & reset button are no wires attached to them.

However, I am a bit worried as I am getting the same Coolermaster v8 cpu fan for this case but I am not confident enough that once I fit the v8 on the cpu, will I be still be able to close the side panel without removing the side panel fan?

Your reply will be very helpful to me as you have the same setup as mine.

why dont you swap coolers if you think it wont fit? or did you realise this after buying it all? youd probably have no choice but to remove the side fan if it doesnt fit.

Yupe, I bought both of it and found out that the size is too big. Then I tried to put mobo and the cpu cooler in the case (without screw or thermal compound, laid in flat table), I noticed that the side panel fan slightly touch the side panel fan when I close the side panel. I tried to spin the fan using my finger and feel like the fan still able to spin as normal. Thus I hoping the person who wrote this review or anyone have the same built can give me some comment.

Does anyone know whether this will this spoil the side panel fan? Will this reduce the efficiency of air flow inside the case?

no. in fact, if it fits only just, then while the airflow would be reduced, it would improve cpu cooling performance slightly.

Then, is this mean a good thing or bad thing having a huge cpu cooler that are able to touch the side panel fan?

Is it what you mean in an example, the cpu cooler originally able to cool the cpu down to 29C but now only able to cool the cpu down to 33C?

quite the opposite actually. maybe not in those magnitudes, but basically with the side fan being there, incoming air is not warmed by the hard drives, so when the cpu cooler takes in the air, it is able to cool a little more.

I'm curious if this would actually help a little better. Since the V8 is so close to the side panel fan, would it be more beneficial to reverse the fan's installation to now pull air instead of pushing air? This way, more hot air will be sucks out through the side panel while cool air is being pulled in from the front and more warm air being pulled out through the back. Would pulling air through the side panel disrupt the case's airflow (even with the V8 taking much of the room0?

a side fan will disrupt that linear flow anyway. as for whether it should be an intake or exhaust, well it would probably depend on the relative location of the cooler to the fan. of the fan will blow more cool air over the exhaust of the cpu cooler, then yeah, it should be an exhaust, but if most of the air goes to the cpu coolers intake, then keep it as it is.

However, now it come to another question that comparing to the product that they available (Zalman CNPS9900LED, Noctua NH-U12P-SE1366, Coolermaster v8), which one is better?

I read a forum in yougamers, they shown that Noctua NH-U12P-SE1366 is cooler than v8. The size of Noctua NH-U12P-SE1366 is only 3mm smaller compare to v8. Thus, do not think there is any different.

If I get the little bro of Noctua NH-U12P-SE1366, Noctua U9B Performance Cooler size is 36mm smaller than v8.

Please let me know which one is the best choice and what will you choose if you are in my shoes.

The Noctua NH-U12P-SE1366 is better than the V8

I checked on the Noctua site and SE1366 is a discontinued product. Is it due to any faulty or become an old product for i7 cpu cooling fan?
