Yes single core. No -advmethod flag. Small files. (or at least I think it's using small now instead of big. That's why I was asking a page or two back how to switch)

I went back and looked at your post and you were running huge files twice the size of anything i am running.
here is a quick guide to the linux install and should be able to help make sure that the settings are what you want. sorry i missed the file size the first time. btw you are not running the -smp flag are you? -------------------

Nope, no -smp flag. I'll remove my entire F@H folder and try again.
Ok, done. Looks like I got a 3MB work unit so that's all good now. EDIT: The video card I've got on that box is GeForce FX 5200. Probably not good for GPU folding? ------------------- "Give a man a link, and he'll have information for a day, teach him to Google and he'll never bug you again."

quote ParanahJoeYeah, and a good way I keep my laptop cool if I have it doing something intensive or know it will running overnight, say, doing a virus scan or downloading big files, is that I sit it on top of my PC. My PC has a fan blowing out on the top, so I put the laptop on top of that fan, and it really keeps it cool. The laptop has vents in the bottom. It really keeps the whole laptop cool, lol. ------------------- C2D e6420 @ 3.0ghz 4GB DDR2 @ 936mhz HD4870 512MB

I spent most of yesterday trying to get the cpu client working after it crashed on me.(lost 904 points) afterabout 6 hours of messing with it i finally got the smp to work.It takes up 100% of my c2d but completes a fold in about 27 hrs and according to fahmon it is good for 1920 points.
the problem turned out to be that i did not have a password on my rig and the smp client requires a password.(i felt really stupid after all that time wasted over a password). just found out that when i set up the smpi crossed up the team number from 53701 to 53107 fixed now but lost 1920 for the team.sorry guys This message was edited by courgan on Feb 08 2009. -------------------

quote dazzle meI'm using a full tower case with 3 80mm, and a 120mm, plus 5 hard drives, and a very loud CPU fan make a bit of noise. Plus I'm in a dorm room, and all the heat that folding produces heats up my room too much (I like it cold at night so I can snuggle up in my blankets ------------------- ![]()

Wow, ever since I installed that increase 2 program, I swear my work units have been flying by. I average about one work unit a day now it seems. I started one last night about an hour before I shut down my computer, and its already on another one. I'd say it takes about 12-14 hours for me to do one.
