Changing options of SF3 on PS2

	I know this game is old, but haven't played it. I have a PS2 and am trying to change the options on the invert aim. I'm suppossed to use directional pad up down to navigate to fields, then left right to change its value. I guess cause its a PS2 and newer controller (I mean it came with the PS2, I didn't buy it special) it won;t let me change that field. When I hit up down, left right, even X to select, it will not let me change the options to tun off vibrate, turn off invert aim. Anybody else able to do this on a PS2? Any help would be great.
