That this was the first game with pokemon and back in the time of ssb pokemon was a total hype so i bet for that reason only ppl bought it in first. and if youve played ssb you also want ssbm thats why this is so popular

ofcource this doesnt apply with china and japan and such but maybe it applys with america but it certainly does for europe i think

there are so many stuff that I can't explain all the time but i'll say some,the moves the character's have(Combos rule),music(Kongo Jungle).there is more but I can't remember....

i say becouse it's afighter game with the oiginal consept of lots of room and use of verious items.

and becouse you need to get bashed out the field insted of dieing.

Hmmm....

I'd say this:

-Mr.Nintendo(Mario) is in this game, and he's the most popular video game hero.
-It's a fighting game, which everybody loves.
-It's a good way to take out your anger. Just do it on a character.
-When say you're going to play it once, you just get so hooked on it because it's a game where you can fight people.

Some of the best games of all time are really easy to pick up and start playing. SSBM's rules are simple to understand, and the moves you are capable of are also simple (use A or B with or without joystick, dodge, jump, move. The Nintendo characters though are what made the game really popular, but what I mentioned first is why so many people have gotten into the game. The reason people continue to play the game is because of the attachment you get to your favorite character and trying to make you favorite character be known as the best fighter. Another reason to continue playing is the learning curve (the more you practice, the more you will indeniably get better). Finally, the options of multiplayer also add to the "reasons why we still play," because whether we are alone, with a friend, with a few friends, or with complete strangers at a tournament, we all know that SSBM will allow us to have fun and show us who really is the Smash King.

Nintendo, HAL, and everyone else in the project did an incredible job in balancing this game and complimenting almost anyone who picks up the controller.
