Your entire arguement is based on the fact you want to punish mother's for harming an unborn child, potentially violating it's right as a human. <(Although a fetus is not an actual person).

Yet you say the child will only have rights once it's outside the womb. So why should you try and protect something that has no rights or freedoms?

Oh right because it will eventually be born.

A foetus is a growing collection of cells, and it is how human beings (or most living beings) begin. It is not human itself, until a certain point which is yet to be agreed on by anyone.

I suggest that this debate ends until everyone is a little less emotional.</sub>

Drinking alcohol at that point will also harm the child far less than it would at an earlier stage of it's developement; when it was still a foetus.</sub>
