When they say give others respect that they give you, they actually mean to give the amount of respect that you recieve from your peers. It sounds dumb, I know, but look at it from an adult's point-of-view: here's some kid, a teenager perhaps, who is demanding your respect. When you become an adult, say 25 or older, you will think the same way; you will think 'who is this little asshole giving me the business?!' ------------------- His will was set, and only death would break it.

	-.- this compares to me alot, I turned 14 on may 3rd and like man. My mom at times is a real witch lets put it that way. Like she has total control over me I can basically never go out she is way to over protective it really ticks me off

	indiana is so right about respect.... in fact i think it is a word used way to oftenly. i am about 18 and have finally realised that the respect i had wished for so naively as a child means nothing... even if you get it they are just humering you. and why not? children are children. now i am not saying 13 year olds should respect me... they should merely understand that i am probably more worthy of it. but i wonder... does one earn their adulthood by earning true respect... or by realising it is unnecessary to try so hard to earn it at all? ------------------- Mr Art thread Excitement!

	I know my mom does. Since my dad died she is the only actual parent I have. I was getting social security and I dont get to see any of it cause she put it all in her account. She threatens to kick me out because I was trying to cope with my grandmas death cause she died about 9 months after my dad was killed and I only got to meet her once. When my dad first died and I was trying to cope we would get into fights all the time and I would run away and one night she had me stay in the corner for a few hours and I nearly passed out and she was saying she can hit me because of corporal punishment but my social worker soon proved her wrong and told her I can report her for abuse since my mom left marks on me and tried saying she didnt. I cant bleeping stand her and I just want to be 18 by now so I really do not have to listen to her.

	The post right above mine is way out of my league too answer, sorry but there's nothing I can say about that :/, however, I think a lot of teenagers are over-emotional spoiled brats. I'm a teenager myself, but I give my parents a lot of respect, considering they raised me, they put a roof over my head and they do things out of their way to further my success in life. Reading a lot of the posts it seems that some of you guys demand your parents respect thinking you are everything, and that's really arrogant. Your parents raise you and spend so much money on you that you should try to give them respect. Of course most teenagers think they're the greatest and that everything should come from them. I agree with what Indiana Jones said, because your parents have most likely seen more things in their life than you have and they can be quite wise too. But yeah that's just my rant.

	Well my dad is to strict. I'm going to high school and he doesn't let me go to friends house. My mom is the opposite of him. My mom and dad complate each other, except both get mad way to easily.

And I know I'm not a spoiled brat...that would be my little brother all my mom really does is bitch about how I do everything wrong and same goes for my stepdad.

Not really, teens are not over-emotional as you speak, they just want some time alone because there going to manhood. Good luck being an adult, hopefully you don't pass out when you realize how much it bleeping sucks. Also, most kids who get social security don't see any of it because it usually goes to pay the bills, that's the ENTIRE POINT of social security, it's not YOUR money to go around town buying whatever you want, that's why you get a job, which you don't even have, thus you have no right to complain about not having money.

	Okay so wait, her mom held up a gun, and said if she moved one muscle, she was going to blow her head off? I stand 4-5 hours all of the time at my job. That's not even a bad punishment, I just find it hilarious that someone can actually complain about it. And no, you're wrong. The social security isn't hers to spend, it's their to make sure she is provided (which she obviously isn't going to provide herself with considering she wants to spend it all on a computer) with the nessisities of life, they don't hand out social security so 17 year olds without a job can go spend it on whatever they want. The thing is, I have a job, as do most people in america, thus I pay social security, upwards of 100 dollars out of each of my paychecks. That's not even HER money, it's the tax payers money and she has no right to spend it willy nilly on whatever the hell she wants. I'm all good with paying 100 dollars every two weeks so she can get whatever health care and food she needs, but taking the money of hard working people and spending it on something that has jack off value in her life is ridiculous.
