	Log in to remove this sponsored message I live in Thailand and have been told about a football/soccer team here that lets its fans vote on team decisions. The team is called Futera Seeker FC, and I guess the concept is derived from the Futera sponsor's online game. Any thoughts on how this would be effective and why a Thai team would do it? From time to time I have thought of creating an account and giving it a try. But afraid of wanting 90 minutes of my life back afterwards, haha. A Thinker's Forum seems to be the best for opinions with statements for backing.

A Thinker's Forum seems to be the best for opinions with statements for backing. As the rule says, if you are thinking twice then don't pursue it. First of all you have to investigate some more about it so you wont make any wrong move. But if you are determined and ready enough to face whatever might happen in the end, then go for your idea. You'll never know if you don't give it a try.

	This is a terrible idea for the same reason that Iniesta doesn't get nominated for player of the year awards. Most fans are only interested in flair and goal output and can't recognize possession ability or playing intelligence for their god damned lives. The team would end up playing away from their strengths and fail miserably.

	It wouldn't work, the coach and the staff are there for a reason, they know their players and should be the only ones making decisions impacting the team. I think I've heard something about this team before, but no idea if it actually happened or how it actually worked. Regarding other input, yeah, the knowledge of the coach will be different as he is present for practice and should know each player's strengths and weaknesses through training.

Barca doesn't retain half the posession numbers they have now without Iniesta. For my money midfielders dont come better than him. Granted, I do agree that Messi and Ronaldo are ringers that almost shouldn't even be allowed to play. There are other, better examples like Drogba and Djibril Cisse who are far more well known than Vidic and Kompany. The average person is more interested in goalscorers and doesn't know what to look for in defenders and so they don't.

Not to mention that Zidane, Cannavaro, Ronaldinho won the player of the awards over players like Di Natale, Drogba, Shearer, etc whose primary job is to score goals. Drogba is rightly above Kompany for what he did w/ Chelsea, and I'm not even sure if anyone who's aware of football would put Cisse anywhere close to the players mentioned. 	Yeah people didn't take to Cisse too well. Cost us £14m which was our most expensive at the time and he didn't do much. To be fair, he had two broken legs in 30 months. As a very keen follower of the team I know the strengths and weaknesses of every player in the first team and reserves and some of the younger players. Some people I know who are average followers know a lot as well. However, I would wonder that in a fan managed system, will a greater majority o fans just want to see goals and heavily offensive play, or will they be concerned with using the team's true abilities? Would they have the patience to vote for transfers and new players to build the team? Perhaps with more established teams, fans would have the patience to see it through.
