Study: Surgery Tools left in patients - Page 2

Yeah it's funny when people think aliens abducted them and that's why they have some metal peice in them.

A relative of mine had some sort of needle forgot in them, and it kept moving with their bloodstream till they died. She kept showing it to us once a week and where it had got, quite disturbing I must say

Okay, it might not be possible to sue the doctor...and it might SOUND cold-hearted that someone would want to do so...but face the simple fact:
A doctor proceeds to operate (for whatever reason), and save a person's life/removes an object/performs correctives surgery...WHATEVER...but there comes a point in the surgery where the surgeon has accomplished the goal, and inevitably makes the decision "Let's close him/her up." Okay, wouldn't that be a prudent juncture to quickly eyeball the internals, and make sure that everything has been taken out? Wouldn't you recognize if a different article was not present internally that wasn't there before? Doctor's are quite familiar with internal anatomy, and surgeons would be doubly more familiar with how they appear from direct visualization....
I don't feel it's unreasonable to expect a surgeon (and the two or three assistants) to perform their job competantly.

... That's just sad... and of cource, as my boyfriend quickly pointed out before reading the article, it states BOSTON MASSACHUSETTS.

(Grumble, grumble)

I makes you wonder if they keep track of the equiptment and supplies they use... even in an emergency situation.

The study was done in boston, but in reality the... occurance happens not only nation wide, but world wide.

The tools should all have strings on them and attached to a table, so when the doctor is stitching them up and sees a string coming from the wound, he will know there is something in there

there was another where kramer dropped some skittles in a guy on accident but in truth most these people are saying u can't sue becuase it is casual but in fact u can sue for malpractice where you can A sue the doctor directly or B sue the hospital or C sue both you would more then likely win either way.i am not sure on ther countries but in the usa i know you can sue them ok i need to know less lawyers. and you could sue for greviances.

My great grandpa went in for heart surgery.The doctors had forgotten to take the sponges out.That they use to clean the blood up.
A month went by and my gr.grandpa got a really bad infection and he passed away. When he had his autopsy done. They told my grandpa(his son) that there were objects that had started th infection, That had lead to his death.
Everyone in my family was very upset about it and I think my grandpa is still fighting this issue.

It's been a year later now.......
