Self imporvement... Yeah...

Lately due to circumstances outwith my control I have been forced to give up Cannibis. In the same time recently i have improved my postion in work, stopped eating badly, stopped drinking and have generally started living healthier.

And i have rarely been so miserable. My level of boredom has simply sky rocketted and life has lost... i dunno. Some vibrance, some depth and some spark.

I guess much of the problem is that i quit smoking weed reluctantly as my work have introduced random drug tests and am struggling to justify my decision to myself.

Does anyone have any comments, similair stories or advice?

You can alleviate this by looking for stuff that you want to know about. I always find science interesting, that and computer programming. If you're bored just look for stuff you want to learn, and apply. You could also play video games, but those are some times just as addicting.

The reason computer programming interests me is because I like to throw one switch, and have like 4 or 5 different processes happen at the same time. On my computer I have an automated save game backup program that I wrote from a simple batch file. This is so I don't have to worry about it when I add mods to my game. I'm speaking about minecraft, by the way.

So, pretty much anything that's legal XD, and occupies your thought.

Firstly good on you for recognizing employment > weed. Having priorities in order is a good start since it seems you can't necessarily have both anymore.

Otherwise tbh you're not having anything that's all that abnormal from what I can tell. Weed isn't physically addictive but it's as psychologically addictive as anything can be, really. It's the same as if you lost anything that was a big part of your life; there's suddenly a void there, and it wants to be filled. Finding a way of filling it, be it new activities or hobbies or whatever, will probably make the boredom go away. It takes a while for new habits to form, but they do eventually.

I think im over the worst of it now if im honest. Y'all were generally correct and withdrawl was probably a lot to do with it. But i am handling things better than i ever have before. And i have indeed been looking at some hobbies and interests to persue. (Thinking about taking up Archery and Target shooting).

I must admit i still have a problem with having had to give up in the first place. As i said it is completely reluctantly and for the total wrong reasons. I am basically having my private life dictated to me.

I think the irony is i may start looking for a new career soon. I dont like being dictated to. the irony is my company may be losing a good worker over something which is absolutely none of their business.
