	Christmas would certainly not be the same for kids if they knew Santa wasn't real. I know I can't speak for everyone, but when I was a young kid, Christmas was less about getting presents, and more about the entire idea of some magical man, with flying reindeer and elves and powers, who travelled across the world MAGICALLY (kids don't really concern themselves on the entire basis of physics and impossibility of the idea) and bringing presents to everyone. I would go to sleep, sure that Santa was on his way, and wake up in the morning with presents under the tree, the cookies we left out for Santa gone, and being sure that Santa had came. It was just about imagination and magic, and more importantly, being a kid. Now, without the idea of Santa, you cannot say that Christmas would be the same. Sure, it is for adults, because they've grown up. But for kids, it's just a day where your parents give ya a few gifts. There would be no real hope or magic, or imagination to it. Just presents. Sure, if you never believed in Santa (Or had no imagination, for that matter), the idea of Santa wouldn't seem like such a big deal. But does that mean everyone should just tell their kids that Santa doesn't exist, thus eliminating any chance of magic or imagination in the event? Of course not. Christmas is about magic and imagination for kids. Without that, there is really no point in it being christmas at all for them; it would just be a day where they get presents, which for many kids these days, isn't really a big thing.

That's the equivalent of telling your kids not to hit women, and then beat the crap out of their mother in front of their eyes. Lying is OK when it comes to santa? I think is hypocritical.

	Okay, seriously guys? Most of you are making out like telling your kid Santa exists is a horrible thing to do. Explain how it is 'wrong' to tell your kid Santa exists? Yeah, I know we tell kids not to lie, but it's hardly the lie you all make it out to be; it's adding a bit of magic and wonder into their childhood, not spitting in their faces. Starving your child is horrible. Telling your child Santa exists to add some magic into their childhood is far from horrible, and if you think it is 'horrible', you need to realise what 'horrible' actually is. And please, explain to me how it is possible to add 'all that magic' while still telling your child santa doesn't exist. Without Santa, it's just another day with the family but with gifts.

I presume that you no longer believe in him, and if so, is Christmas completely dull to you? To me, at least, Christmas was still magical despite my lack of belief in Santa's existence. Most people that I know don't associate Christmas with Santa: he's just been hyped up for marketing purposes. They'd rather associate it with festive decorations, family, friends, exchanging gifts, and generally having a good time. Like I said, I think there's much more to Christmas than Santa. And considering how many people enjoy the day without him, it looks like I'm not alone.

What i'm saying is that it's hardy the horrifying lie people are implying it to be. Also, without the idea of 'santa', how is there any 'magic' in christmas? Because i'm assuming that if you choose to tell your child that santa doesn't exist, then surely you wouldn't tell him any other 'magical' aspect of christmas is real?
