	Log in to remove this sponsored message I don't think I could ever do it. I like to think that I have excellent self-control; every action I take is a decision. Killing someone in the heat of the moment? No. I couldn't do it. If I were being threatened, I'd try to find a way to disarm the person, say shoot them in the leg/arm, knock them down and hold them. If you have the strength/capability to kill somebody, then in most situations you'd also be able to stop them safely. Everybody has a life. They've got some kind of family, or a pet, or friends. They have stuff that they want to do, plans. I couldn't take that away from them. -------------------

	Given the situation, I think almost everyone would be able to kill another person, but as you'd expect with saying something like this, the situations would differ greatly from person to person. The most considered situations are things such as someone trying to murder you or causing extreme pain/discomfort yourself or a loved one, because of things like this I believe that everyone has their own personal "Snapping point" in which they would drop things such a morals and legal repercussions and trigger the urge to take another's life. This aside, I believe that the urge to kill someone is something that although everyone has a certain threshold for, self control would always be something to help or hinder those urges, just like self control and willpower are used for many things throughout the day such as dieting and following rules and laws.

Definitely. Different people have different threshholds, and different reactions. Someone might have such good self control that they could never be driven to their snapping point unless put in the most extreme of circumstances. Not everyone would snap by taking a gun and shooting someone. They might be compelled to poison food, set a trap, or something similar. -------------------

	Already thought about this years ago and I came to the satisfying conclusion that I actually could and would kill someone given the correct circumstances. Then again, I have been evaluated to be a complete psychopath, so I guess only time will tell. ------------------- Ain't no gettin' off this train we're on!

	Stoyt and others. Your right. Maybe you have. Maybe we all have. How much responsibility should the public attribute to themselves if the politicians they voted for decide to go on a global Grand Theft Auto style rampage? People often take personal pride in their elected representatives achieving positive manifesto and policy targets, so why shouldnt we also take a share in the negative? I think intent obviously comes into it and i was stabbed in the back in that regard. So why do i still feel guilt? How loosely do we define "Kill someone". If i buy a gun and support my friend using it to kill someone i too have killed that person. So when my taxes pay for a cruise missile or tank shell which hits an area with intended collateral damage at the request of a govornment I elected... why is that any different?

Once they do reach this point of pure unbridled instinct, is it really a decision anymore? A court could claim temporary insanity. -------------------

	No. I do not think I could. Not even the people I perceive as being less than human. I've had times where I was immensely angry at people and wished them dead and did everything in my power to try to override my morality to give way to my emotions and instincts, but I just simply couldn't. Any of those times. I think the only time I could possibly imagine myself killing someone is if it was in the defense of myself or someone else, in which I wouldn't think of the attacker, if it was a situation in which I felt I couldn't even spare a split second to think, if it was me or them or some other kind of life or death situation.
