Even if I wanted to, I highly doubt I have it in me. I don't flinch at the thought of killing ants and moths, but there are a great many differences between people and insects. Primarily size, strength, and overall tenacity when compared to myself.

Depending on the situation, for self-preservation, quite easily or for defending someone else, quite easily but for anything else, never.

The quick answer to the question is yes l could.
But there would be certain requirements or certain events that would be needed before l could.

Could i kill someone ? In theory, yes.

If someone posed a direct, immediate and undeniable threat to my person, my family or my property then yes, and without any guilt.

However OP, you are nto talking about this. You are talking about signing up to do filthy politicians dirty work. Your not talking about defending yourself and your own from an immediate threat, you are not talking about fighting a necessary defensive war of days gone by. You are not talking about defending your kin.

You are talking about joining the meat grinder. The modern army. Your talking about fighting a war no-one can justify in a place no-one wants to be in defending people who dont want you there.

A war no-one can even give definative and undeniable reasons for. Would i go to the middle east to shoot poverty stricken angry nomads... No. I was destined to join the army, its in my families blood. But one look at the "wars" we fight, the blatent lies our flock minded society somehow believe and the pathetic justifications and i decided against it.

Remember wither an atheist or a priest you must also consider the long term psycholgical, philosophical and ultimate consiquences of your actions in life. To take a life i would need a very good reason, and none of the armed conflicts going on right now even come close. Im not pissing my, or someone elses life away for the obsessive and insane crusades of hyper-capitalist murdering madmen in business suits, or their under-evolved psychotic fiath blinded enemies.

Remember the other half of war. You'll end up dead yourself. You dont want to be lying staring at the dirt grey sky miles from home in the middle of a middle eastern desert covered in your own shit and piss crying for your mum realising what a mistake you made.

I would need a justifiable reason to. There is a distinction between justifiable homicide and cold blooded murder. Both can be premeditated.

I most certainly could if I had to. If it meant the difference between life and death for myself or a loved on, it would not be but a heartbeats decision.

Dealing with the aftereffects correctly, though- perhaps a different story.

Certainly if using a gun, but probably not with a close range weapon like a knife--I feel like that's too "personal". The question for me would be if I could cope with what I'd done
