Either I guess, but I don't feel comfortable in a room full of singing people. I got nothing against people doing it, I just feel uncomfortable being around them when they do.

The Bible =/= Christianity. According to John 3:16, God loved the world so much, that he sent his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, that whosoever believes in Him may not perish, but have eternal life.

By divulging in to that "Whosoever" part, I think it's safe to say that if a gay man/woman wishes to believe that he or she was made because that is how God wanted her to be, and firmly believes that Jesus was sent to wash away his or her sin, then he or she is not to be condemned to Hell, but glorified in the Kingdom of Heaven.

I know many Homosexual Christians, and not a single one has any problem with God's stance on homosexuality according to the Bible, because all of it is moot because their sins have been forgiven because they've asked Jesus Christ in to their hearts to cleanse their sins.


I'm not about to de-rail this thread entirely, but when baseless comments like the one regarding the "God hates Homos" or whatever are made, I tic.

I'm bringing this in here because it's the more appropriate place for it. The bolded part to me stands in contrast to Romans 6: "What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin, how can we live in it any longer?" (6:1-2) It's true that Jesus saves us from our sins, but our response should be repentance from those sins. You wouldn't look the same way at a murderer who accepts Christ and then continues to murder, would you? A full understanding of the gospel should create a hatred for the sin in our lives, and cause us to move toward holiness.

So then, if the murderer can't be sincere, what's wrong with me saying that the people practicing homosexuality aren't sincere? How are we to differentiate between sins? I'll be the first to admit that I'm a filthy sinner, but I am making effort to rid my life of those sins to better pursue Christ, and God is faithful to help me when I struggle.

Well then, there shouldn't be a problem with a murderer doing the exact same thing then. If he believes he was born a murderer, and that it cannot be helped, then shouldn't God look past the murders?

Society's view on an issue shouldn't be an indication of how the church should view it. Homosexuality was more commonplace in the society of the early church than it is now, and yet the Bible still calls the church to live differently than the culture. Do I think homosexuals need Jesus? Absolutely. But do I think we should be condoning sinful behaviors to lead them to Christ? No, I don't. Love the sinner, hate the sin.

Guys, I'm not really meant to be in here, but I remembered this biblical quote and it's relevant to what you're talking about. I just thought I'd mention it.

And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. MAT 6:5-6

Isn't this Jesus telling people that they should only pray in private?

DG Jesus is speaking out against vain repetitious prayers. Muslims praying the same prayer five times a day is a good example of that.

Prayer to God should be personal and genuine.

Jesus is also against those who pray long winded prayers to be seen of men. That can also apply to those who sing in church to be seen of men. Believe me this is not an uncommon thing. Take this thing they are passing off as praying in tongues for instance. It is just vain repetitious gibberish, but they do it to be seen and to be accepted. Oh wow, I am so impressed, he or she is talking absolute gibberish repetitively.

Wish I had that incredible power

So what Jesus is saying applies to Catholics who chants prayers.

Muslims who pray repetitively.

And to Pentecostals who pray in repetitive gibberish.

Also they who sing to be seen by others.

Also DG better to stay away from Church.

I'm pretty sure GG was speaking out against routinely chanting the same prayer verbatim 5 times a day.
