	Log in to remove this advertisement Why would we want to dismantle this forum into nothing more than cesspool for news articles to rot in? If I want someone's will-nilly opinion on something I'll go to loungin'. In this forum, members will ask you to provide reasons as to why you hold a certain opinion. Members will ask you to back up your reasons with evidence, and you are expected to say something more than just a simple one liner. As far as I know, you can also always post news articles and start a discussion in this forum, but that shouldn't be the only thing that happens around here. Also, for the record, yes you do need to be at least a little informed to have an opinion. 	I didn't really see a problem with the Jesus appreciation thread, but I didn't realize it was going to turn into a "believers only" thread. Thats just nonsense. I should mention, when I saw the caption beneath the thread title I thought Wo was just poking fun at how comical the thread is in the first place. As a side note I just want to say this is why the atheist thread is sort of pointless. It discusses on commonality between a set of people, which is a lack of belief or disbelief in a god. Other things such as morality, belief in supernatural forces(ghosts, psychics, etc), ideas of secularization, ideas about methodological naturalism... I could list so many things that many people often equate to atheism but do not actually encompass it. While some atheists share certain traits, the word atheism is sort of an empty word so attempting to railroad a thread on atheism to atheism is tantamount to mandating users to only discuss the non-existence of god. This is why I have yet to post anything discussion worthy in that thread. The first page was filled with great suggestions and I thought maybe the title would be changed and the thread as a whole would head in a more "intellectual" direction, but that is yet to happen. 	I get it Chiro, I'm not blaming the mods for their judgment. The community wanted something and you gave it to them. I'm just disappointed that the threads come off as group A vs B and feel very swallow do to their subject matter. If I were to be participating in the Christian thread I would feel the same way. 	I believe the threads can't be "derailed". Thus, there is only so much you can discuss about not believing in god or believing in god. 	The Grammar topic is a fine thread with the potential for interesting discourse. I'm not against it. I'm speaking out against your generalization of the forum members. This herding of everyone under one label coupled with the fact you don't buy into a scientific principle that is key to understanding the topic of your own thread, is what triggered by previous post. Let me be clear, I have no problem with your thread.
