Actually there is a good reason to report it. I cannot defend myself, or my beliefs in the thread that DG posted my words in. Which by the way, he pretty much mapped where those words can be found, so its not like it was anonymous quote. Nor did his post launch some great topic of discussion. If that was an initial posting of a new thread, we all know mods would at lest question its "depth".

How can I defend my opinion or even correct DG erroneous implications (which to me is a form of bashing, since he is implying something I never stated)? At best, all I can do is explain what I said, but even then, I would probably get a warning, since I cannot explain it without arguing my position. I cannot even give my opinion about being treated differently because I am a Christian in a thread that is centered around Christianity without a warning being issued.

Why is it reasonable to quote a "Christian" from a Christian thread, and post it in an Atheist thread, and use it for discussion or suggesting that they said something which is wrong anyways?

How does cross posting atheist's or Christian comments mesh with the current rules or purpose of the boards? If you cannot answer this question, then it just goes to show that there was good reason to report the post.

But from your original post and what was said in the following PM conversation, you definitely seemed to me to be saying that morals are worthless unless set down by a deity and therefore that being "good" is also worthless if you do it based on your own motivations.

As far as I can tell this is basically what you were saying and that's what I said in the atheist thread. I also said that I might be misinterpreting it.

The implication of saying such a thing is that non-religious people are not good people.

Feel free to clarify, but I did not intend to start a battle over this.

Look, I understand your point, Turkagent, and I don't disagree. However, while there was the Christian/Biblical thread, before the atheist thread, there was a problem with atheists feeling left out and wanting their own thread. So Wo, Curt, and I decided that fair is fair, and we are allowing that thread. Quite honestly, it is a lot more interesting and thought provoking than I had originally expected it to be, and you know what? I believe in God, and I find myself reading that atheist thread far more than the Christian thread.

Naked Snak3, the problem with that idea isn't that I don't think a Secular Humanism thread wouldn't work, because I believe it would, but a small group of atheists wanted an atheist thread, so we allowed it. Look, if you wanted to follow the suggestion that Byzantine made, then make the thread and it can be open to all discussion, including debate.

I believe the threads could discuss their respective topics indefinitely. Whether it's rambling or deep quality discussion they could survive forever?
