I mean, from what I've heard the pill's less effective than condoms, but I don't really know about that. I know the girls that I've been that have used them have reacted terribly to them though. A little confused here.

-best friend with girl for a year

If you don't think the two of you will be able to sustain a long-distance relationship, it might be best for both of you if you break it off for the time being. Then, you two can talk to each other as much as you want without feeling obligated to keep anything going. You can still get back into a relationship later if you both are still interested (and if you relationship is strong, you most likely will be).

But yeah, definitely talk to her first, see what she wants too. Communication is key.
