I know it's not the best thing for me, to compare myself to stars. I think a lot of this obsession with my looks goes back to high school. I know you said most high schools aren't that bad. But my high school was so small and backwards, it's like if you weren't a jock or someone popular, you didn't even exist and you weren't worthy of respect.

I can remember trying to approach pretty girls in school and because the girl had been dating a guy at the time, his guy friend told me she's way out of my league and that I'm ugly in so many words.

I mean you would have had to go to my high school to see how *bleep*ed up it was. My high school was like a dysfunctional version of Mayberry from Andy Griffith.

When I was in high school I was part of the nerd group just because I prefered those sort of people, I had the piss taken out of me every single day, I never even had a proper girlfriend till I was 17 hell I didnt even kiss a girl properly till I was 16.

The only thing that changed for me once I got out of school was that me and my nerd friends started going out to a local pub *it was our local for about 7 years* and meeting girls, getting rejected, not letting it get to us because we always had each other as friends.

Can honestly say now out of my group of friends back then *which I still have all of them now at 29* only 1 of them isnt settled down.

You need some male friends, people to hang around, people that have got your back, people that you can turn to when you feel lonely, people that are there no matter what goes on. Girls have come and gone in our lifes but we are all still friends to this day and thats what matters.

@ turkagent: I'm convinced Easy falls under a typical narcissistic personality disorder because he reminds me more and more of my grandmother (who is a diagnosed but in denial narcissist).

Symptoms:

1) obsession with appearence and how other people percieve him.
-Ex: Compares himself to movie stars, reads too much into little facial expressions and three line conversations, obsesses over not being a "jock".

2) Percieves himself as a victim. Percieves his victimization as unique, somehow seperate from the same victimization that everyone goes through.
-Ex: His constant insistance that his high school was somehow crappier than other people's high schools.

3) Martyr complex. When he slights other people and they retaliate, he gets defensive and takes on the role of being picked on.
-Ex: He hit on someone's girl and when that guys friend retaliated suddenly Easy was the poor picked on victim.

4) Inability to consider constructive advice that disagrees with what he's already decided.
-Ex: Note the lovely way he has of avoiding perfectly reasonable advice because it disagrees with what he's already decided about himself. He has an excuse for every behaviour we critisize and an excuse to not take every bit of advice we give him. In some cases he ignores the advice entirely as if we never said anything, thus why we are feeling like we're repeating ourselves to no effect.

The obsessive personality disorder goes hand in hand with the narcissism, so no need to distinguish between the two.

*No I'm not a doctor, but I have 10+ years of experience dealing with a diagnosed narcissist to draw upon.

How can you not know if you like a girl? It's usually pretty obvious.

You really should just know. If you have to ask, you don't.

Relax, she's just testing you to see how you react. Also if she knows anything about pshychology, she's probably doing it on purpose to keep you enticed.

The good news is, it means she's very much interested in you. The bad news is, if you fail the "test" you may be percieved as insecure. So just be patient and relax.

She insists on doing this all the time, even when I tell her to quit that shit lol
