It is funny you say that because I was listening to talk radio and apparently the author, or one of the authors, of the Arizona bill was talking about getting something like that passed. It would stop the influx of anchor babies that is for sure. I would by the way, would support such a law.

	If we can't get that passed, I like my idea too. Yeah your idea is fine in my book. It deals the the issue in a fair way. I still think that both illegal parents = illegal child. They aren't officially allowed into the country. So bleep them. Send them on their way. How do we deal with both legal immigrants who have children and aren't citizens? Having a child in the USA hardly makes you more qualified to contribute to society. Even Britney Spears can do that. Have a baby one more time. So it isn't really addressed by my idea. But with your plan, should the visa expire and they be forced to leave the country, they can take the child with them. The child can then decide where he/she wants to live when they grow up. IT IS clear, what bothers me is the wording, racism is still a serious issue here Griffen, even though we are one human race, socio-economics prevent people from realizing that. That's what bothers me about the bill, not the deportation, but the attitude that some people take. And how several people are gonna enjoy abusing this law's "reasonably suspicions" part. This is personal for me, as technically I can fall under "reasonably suspicions" even though I'm not mexican. "He looks Mexican enough, let's ask him for I.D." -------------------

	Well I don't normaly swear. So when I start, I sometimes have had issues stopping. I have never been an immigrant or someone who even thought his citizenship was in question. I do happen to live in a state that feels the negative impact of illegal immigration. I know it is doing harm to people in my country and causing racial tensions. I don't like the idea, but I am not totally opposed to giving amnesty to some illegal imigrants. If they have become a productive part of the community, then it is in the best interests of the people to bring them out of the shadows. At the same time enough is enough. There can be no amnesty if there is no change to the broken system. I feel this suggestion is of great use towards fixing the system. Illigal parents must not be allowed to use childbirth as a foothold into this country. That puts all immigrants on an even foothold. It is also moraly unsound to use the child like that. Tough love is something I know about. It is much harder to do then simply caving in. You have to care about others enough to let them find their own way. This often entails them not liking you. It isn't a plesent feeling. It is something that can help people. I have used this since I was a child. Call me cold, evil, or whatever but I am practical. I do not intend to be the villan, but someone has to be. So I am sorry if I offended you. I do understand your situation and even that you might have the right to sue at some point in time and depending on circumstances. I still want this law to say FOR NOW. 	They can keep the law as a temporarily solution, they just better expect resistance until then. There will be several ugly incidents with this law, I can tell. A certain someone said to give all illegal Mexican immigrants amnesty then close off the borders for good, if it wasn't for the "let's put troops there and have them shoot them" comment, I would have agreed. There already are troops there anyways. Also I love it when Cubans criticize Mexican Illegals, considering they get amnesty the minute they touch shore. I guess that's what happens when an empire starts to lose itself and freak out over little island dictatorships. -------------------

	I am guessing it won't be as simple as that. Arizona is taking quite a bit of flack for this. They may not wish to be reasonable. I am guessing they are circling the waggons and holding their ground as much as they can. There is also the matter of HOW and WHEN the Federal government will resolve this. They aren't known for their speed. They are also HEAVY democrat. There are hundreds of thousands of people waiting to come into the country the legal way. It's completely unfair to those waiting to do things the legal and right way to give amnesty to those that did it illegally. For those that will be a contributing member of society, that's great. They can get in line just like everyone else. I don't care if they're Mexican, Cuban, British, whatever. Get in line like everyone else, you're not special because you tried to take an illegal shortcut.

	Yeah, same. I am elated. Also, watching Brewer attempt to appeal the ruling and ultimately losing in the Supreme Court is going to be boundlessly amusing. And yes, silverboner, there are indeed federal laws that address immigration. These laws need to be reformed, which is actually beside the point because it's illegal for a state to attempt to enforce federal law, regardless of whether the federal government is enforcing it. I'm not sure what exactly is difficult to understand about that. It's not any more illegal to be an illegal immigrant than it is to violate the legal jurisdiction of the federal government.

	I think you need a grammar class, but that's just me. Also, I'm rather drug-free, save infrequent alcohol use. Local agents can enforce federal law. They cannot make a new state law that attempts to supersede federal law. Also, state laws cannot promote unconstitutional principles such as racial profiling. In other words, Arizona officers can enforce federal immigration laws if they happen to learn of a person's illegal immigration status through legal and situationally pertinent methods. But Arizona cannot make a law requiring them to do so, much less via unconstitutional means.
