You can't expect everyone to give a rational response to a question involving a scenario where the most irrational side of a human being is stirred up.

That being said, a lot of people don't even have a clue what they would do until they actually find themselves in a situation of life or death.

I would naturally say that I would try to save the human, but if I imagine someone I don't know and my dog in the middle of the road with a vehicle coming at them, I would grab which ever is closest to me and pull back so I wouldn't risk my own life as well.

On another note, a dog will not judge you, if you show it love, it will most likely return the favor, but as for a human, it is not the same. There are so many personalities out there that there is no way to tell if that person would even thank you for saving his/her life. For all I know, they could have been trying to commit suicide and get angry at you for saving them. So it depends on the situation and person of the incident who I would save.

Let's say you're standing on the shore and witness someone swim out to where an innocent little girl is drowning and screaming for help and next to her was a dog. Nobody said it isn't a hard choice to choose between your pet and a stranger, but it's certainly not a grey choice. it's a very black and white choice between right and wrong. Clearly the wrong choice is to choose to save the life of an animal, when a living breathing human being with family and friends will get to die for your selfish act. All so you can continue to fawn over how cute your little fido is for another couple of years before the shorter life expectency of your pet does him in decades before the stranger would have finally died. The fact is, a human life is 1000% more valuable than that of a dog or a cat. If you honestly form more of an emotional bond with an animal than you do with another human being, even if that human is a complete stranger, you're a sad pathetic little toad of a repressed human being. You need to grow up.

Man you really are a slefish cold-hearted guy arent you?Your not an animal person are you?to some people animals mean as much to us than other people,a friend will never love you as much as a dog did you know?

Why is he selfish or cold-hearted? A dog has no friends or family (besides the owner) unlike the human being, who will be missed dearly, even more than the dog. You can't seriously compare the death of a dog with the death of a human

This may sound weird comin' from me, but some of you need to get off your high horse and stop bein' so self-righteous and preachin' to others. No matter how different someone else's morals are, it's much better to be with morals than without. It's all good, so it's not somethin' that calls for objection and ranting. Savin' a life is a good thing, no matter which side it is, so chill. Human life is longer and all, but as the saying goes, quality over quantity. Realistically, a situation like this wouldn't be as black-and-white as any human and any pet. Everyone has different values, and I'd much rather save a good pet than a bad human, and other way around. It all depends.

I choose option C.
Reason?
Option C is when you beat the crap out of the person who is drowning the person and my dog.
It's basically a win-win situation. Once the maniac is knocked out my dog can do the doggy paddle and I can save the damsel. Both would live.
But the bottom line is that if there were only 2 options I would choose my dog!

I would rather be human as is. The reason? I would think being an animal would be a nice experience, but at the same time the thought of being a pet would be awkward. I have nothing against animals, and do not feel guilty about pleading my choice for being a human rather than a pet.
