actually, thats wrong, its not that something comes out of nothing at all. positron and electrons are a particle antiparticle pair that are coming out of the vacuum energy.

theres energy in the vacuum, and thats manifesting itself in a particle antiparticle pair. its coming from the energy.

its the reverse of a nuclear bomb, in that you have a small piece of matter being converted into a HUGE amount of energy, but with this you have a huge amount of energy converted into a small amount of matter.

and also, the concept of a god is just as random as the big bang theory. its a completely arbitrary system of belief. theres no reason to believe in it at all.

im not saying god doesnt exist, but if you believe in him you have no logical reason to do so, which is why its called faith. so your staking your existence on something irrational too. we're all just believing what seems easiest to us, and for you to suggest your way of belief makes more sense is kind of arrogant really.

the bible isnt constant, there are a million and one contradictions, and when does science contradict itself everyday?

plus nonoe says science is right, all scientists acknowledge modern science is only an approximation to the truth. and its a bloody good approximation, look around you, science is at the heart of society. drugs, cars, planes, central heating, all based on science, and they work dont they? theres proof that science is heading in the right direction.

im not saying its true, it does get it wrong, but then again its constantly adapting and changing. the bible has been the same for 2000 years, and it shows. there are alot of contradictions in it. the lord of the rings is constant through and through, does that make it true?

The Bible is constant, the Bible actually does not have contradictions when you look at the laws of the regions that applied in the times that the books were written. Religion is also at the heart of society. Science is mainly guesswork and estimations, from an atheists point of view, so is religion so it all comes down to what you choose to believe. Science cannot seem to agree on things like, how was the universe created because there are hundreds of theories floating around about that, In the Bible there is only one, it only becomes more when Theologists start to think up things that were never in the Bible to try and prove their points, and people believe them.

EDIT: I would have to try and find it as I cannot remember if his name was Penrose or Penbrook and I cannot remember the exact words. I will look.

thats what i said earlier, but you keep saying religion is better than science which isnt true, they are both equally valid.

science cannot seem to agree, because we're looking for the truth, the bible only agrees because it was arbitrarily written by people.

look, as i said, the lord of the rings all agrees on whats happening in the story, there are less contradictions in the story of the lord of the rings than in the bible, does that make the events of the lord of the rings truer than science?

harry potter attributes alot of things to magic, not science, and there arent any plot holes, does that make the magic of harry potter a more valid belief than that of science?

The Lord of the Rings was written as a work of fiction. The Bible was not if you are a Christian. Find me someone who believed that the Lord of the Rings happened and I will accept your analogy.

Well that could probably be done with science books, or encyclopaedia's and most other texts in the world. Your argument centres around 2 books with no common point of reference, one of which is irrelevant, completely different genres and your comparing them. There has been a book written stating that the holocaust never occurred, this book could be considered to be non fiction but there is absolutely no evidence to back this up, Lord of the Rings could be considered to be real in 2000 years time but there is no evidence to suggest it ever happened. There have been texts dug up with chapters from the Bible on them, some of them are considered to be the first ever recordings of the Bible. Thats harder evidence then you will get from any work of fiction.
