Hooligansim-Is |Britain falling into a state of worry?

A main topic in the media is about Yobs/hooligans, they are a widely known topic with the internet being filled with examples, Youtube, Piczo, Myspace all have it, take the killing of poor Reece(R.I.P) who was caught in the middle of a gang wars or fathers like Garry Haylock.

These people do not know how they are effecting the widows and children of these poor people. KNIVES are being brought into schools, Teachers and fellow students attacked. Teenagers 'raping' O.A.P's. Is Britain falling into a state of worry? With the future voters acting like this, what can we expect from a once glorious nation? What are your views?

Yes but if people grow up, thinking this suitable will they learn, you reep what you sew so will this end, I believe it will only be resolved if the government and the People work together and punishments are made worse.

Honestly I think the problem lies in Britain's legal system. Apparently it is a beauracratic nightmare in which "yobs" can get away pretty much scot free or even exact damages against people who are defending themselves against them.

Possible solutions could include an enlargement of the number of actions taken against yobs that are covered under self defence immunity. Empower your citizens to legally fight back against those who scoff at the law.

Personally though I would be more worried about your 3% Muslim minority trying to push through Sharia law.

Perhaps I might have meant that at least the police and security officers should be allowed to carry arms, gee wouldn't that be a good idea? Allowing them to defend themselves and the innocent against said hooligans?


If I recall correctly, didn't Britain's murder and crime rate skyrocket after they enacted that ban?

If I say it once I'll say it again, when you outlaw guns, only the outlaws will have guns.

If you pass legislation and law banning the use/possession of firearms, obviously the only people who will listen to that law are the ones who obey and follow the law. I believe that rules out most of said hooligans.

I remember one oh-so memorable story of a chav sueing a police officer who hit him too hard whilst he was arresting him. It's that kind of thing we need to sort out.

In Australia, guns are totally outlawed (as well as swords, crossbows, bows, and pretty much any sharp weapon besides knives, though you can obtain a license to get one in some states), and we haven't had much gun problems at all. Sure, there are a few that slips through the system, but most are caught and given heavy jail sentences just for having firearms (say 5~15 years depending on the severity, not sure about how long of course)

having guns legalized will be disastrous in my opinion. the most violent people can get in Australia is fist/pocket knife fights, or a few explosive cocktails that can't do shit (unless it lands right under your feet, in which case you're screwed, especially if you're a guy)

I'm sure the family of a certain Brazilian won't be wanting more armed police on the streets, plus armed police will lead to more yobs arming themselves with guns, vicious circle.
