I remember I had a lot of trouble with this game - it seemed too difficult for me, but I did beat it using a Game Genie.

I have not beat this game yet, NOT YET but I know I will beat this game sooner or later. Im currently to play this right now. It is very easy for me to play it from Area 1 to 5 but at Area 6, it is very hard and have to be careful not to get hurt and take a lot of patience to beat it. I did fought with the Shredder for the first time and I had Donatello with full health to fight him. I didnt realized that he shot me once and I became back to the small turtle. It was so fustrated. I had to start all over again from Area 6 to play another Turtle but I gave up. So, Im still working on it. Wish me Luck.

Nope, I couldn't do it either. I got pretty far though. I remember being really happy because I found a dead turtle tied up and got to use him from there on. Very hard game though.

Well, this game is probably impossible to beat without using some type of cheat. There's just certain parts towards the end of the game that are so hard they are 99% unbeatable. But anyways, the ending goes something like this

After you beat the game Splinter turns back into his human form! WTF!? Since when was he ever a human? I don't really know if this game was going along the same story line as the movies, but in Turtles 1 he was raised as a rat with splinter (Oroku Saki)... remember?

Well there are two viewpoints on it. The one is the viewpoint seen in the films which say he was just a rat. The other viewpoint (also taken in the cartoons) was that he was actually a human that got mutated.

Haha, I saw it about a few months ago. Absolutely priceless. It reminded me how crappy it really was. I remember that gap....
