Omega Pirate on Hard

I guess I should have asked:

For people who have completed the game on hard mode, did you do anything different or tricky when fighting the Omega Pirate than the known strategies say?

I have 77% items at that point which I'm sure is everything up till that point. <pretty sure anyway>

most of the problem is the pirates he spawns. They do significant damage when hitting. Fighting them takes a while (ie. power troopers take 2 super missles a piece to kill) and Omega respawns too quickly to hurt him when I fight the pirates first.

My advice to say to you is to not worry about the iprates that come after the omega pirate regenerates. All you need to do is use the laser beam and shoot at the pirate using x-ray vision. Try to avoid the pirates shootings. After you shoot at the omega enough, hell disappear, when he comes boack to regenerate another time, shoot at him again. Thats the best way to kill him.

It took me about 7 or 8 tries before I finaly beat him on hard. I had to find out his tactics and how he worked before I was able to beat him, but when I did, I only had 28 on the energy meter and all the other tanks were empty.

For one thing, make sure you have the 13 energy tanks before fighting him. You'll need them. Also use the plasma beam on charge when shooting his armor, but wait till he smashes the ground with his eletric quake thing.

One thing I found out was that if you lock onto him and dash around him, (with his back to you) he'll turn around to find you and do his quake thing, that will give you a chance to blast his armor.

When he's gone invisible, chareg up your regular beam gun and if your lucky enough to be facing the area of phazon where he apears, lock on right away and shoot him with a super missle, if your quick enough, charge up again and shott him a 2nd time before he dissapears. Ive only done this once though so its very tricky.

On a side note, i think on hard mode, the omega pirate was the hardest thing on the game. I beat Meta Ridley and prime the first time I went up againt them.

Actually, it took me more tries to kill him on normal than it did on hard... I guess the normal mode fight was like practice or something... but the Space Pirates are right, those things could help their army become indestructible.

Here is a tip...

To get rid of the armour plates on his body, morph to a ball, roll between his legs and use a power bomb.

This should get rid of at least the bottom two plasma shields but if you do it right, it will get rid of all the pieces.

And all this costs is just about 20 damage IF you accidently hit him.
