[ Petition ] General Metroid Forum - Page 4

Insanity Prevails brings up a few good points, just saying "OMG, I support 908457%" will get this nowhere. I don't support this even though I like the series. Just because the games are popular means there will be discussion, so there's no need for it's own forum, yet.

This is exactly the problem, and why I do not support a general Metroid forum. If the forums for each individual game are struggling to survive, then how are we meant to believe that a general forum would have much of a chance of surviving? I'm assuming the reason people like the Metroid franchise is because they like the games, but if most people can't be bothered to actually discuss the games then it isn't a very strong fanbase.

Unlike other series, where things tend to flow from game-to-game, series that have plenty of characters, relationships, plot twists and mysteries, Metroid has only one constant factor: Samus. There isn't much else to discuss, given that most things in the Metroid games are isolated to a single installment; Meaning that discussion of those events should go in the appropriate forum and not somewhere else.

A General Metroid forum would effectively be a PPD drain on the only other two active Metroid forums. It is not a good idea.
